will a S-E or JWT chip make any difference to the performance of your car without boost jets? ive had mine chipped and took out the JETS and found no difference to bfr it was chipped [This message has been edited by jaylox (edited 14-06-2002).]

I noticed while making a Z vid that some soot comes out of my exhaust when getting to about 3500-4000 revs. Its not smoke its deffinatly soot. What can this mean? Is it just soot from inside the exhaust? Or could it mean I am running rich? Stuart

excuse my ignorance,but what are/is AIV's, noise is more like a train in distance rumbling along, it comes from passenger side footwell like just behind ecu unit,cant hear it when moving, only when tickover,louder out side on passenger side from behind wheel area,how do i sort out the AIV's etc, thanks ps,sounds more mechanical than fluid? ------------------

I am about to buy a 300zx and need to know whether the extra expense and servicing costs associated with a twin turbo are compensated for by the difference in performance from a non-turbo. Any help much appreciated.

does anyone know where i can take my car once and for all to have everything checked and sorted especially my vibration problem ive changed gear box mount and had oe piece prop made(although i think its made wrong any one want to do a swop so i can try original would pay good money if interested) my car is a manual tt and i live near bristol but would travel anywhere cheers mark

i noticed my car was revving high at idle most times about 1000rpm to 1500rpm sometimes it would settle and on tick over it would be ok then rev slightly higher again i had a mechanic have a look he cleaned the throttle bodies and the idle speed seemed ok until he test drove the car he noticed at 30mph in 4th gear the car didnt feel smooth and suggested the cold start valve might be at fault does this sound right and where is the valve? how much ? and is it easy to fit? thanks in advance mark

I only got my 300ZX in Febuary and now its 'off the road'!! I've started to upgrade/repair/replace my 'ladies' interior bits. All trim is out, dash is 75% unbolted and its now looking a sight for sore eyes. Is this the beginning of it all.......?

Hi, Replacing a door mirror on my Z,the one I am replacing has heated mirrors but the shell has been glued where it is broken. The one I am replacing it with has no heated mirrors,can I transfer the guts so that it will heat up? Also got to paint it Nissan Pearlescent white, anybody know where I can get a can of this from. Also what's the correct procedure for rubbing down and spraying this mirror, do I have to apply lacquer? Cheers Mark

Hi, Just got given a Nokia 9110 today with a couple of problems. It needs a new battery for starters but I don't know if the second is connected to the battery problem. The internal screen says 'internal error disconnect battery to reboot', has anybody any ideas, or know of a nokia forum where I could ask? Mark

im asking an old question here? ive checked all my vaccum related pipes and tightened where posible,but still i have this gurgle im pretty sure its not the aiv,but not 100% could my sound which is coming from the back of the engine(rail) be something to do with the fueling(it sound like water running down a plug) the sound is only "whilst accelerating" and it stops when im not,also it stops while the car is stood still. this is totally doing my head in please help come-on you guys someone must have an idea or guess????/ jaylox

Bought myself a camcorder. I have always wanted one. Made this very small clip of my Z. I am getting better at the editing, but I have trouble making the files small enough. Its 7mb for 1:07s. Hi everyone, I'm having a really weird problem starting the car - when I turn the ignition to start the car, the engine won't turn (I can't hear the starter motor chugging) and everything switches on and off really quickly. Theres a sortof clicking sound as the stereo and avc-r and everything electrical switches on and off. Any ideas where to start looking? I'll get this bloody thing working if it's the last thing I ever do! Cheers, John

Have any u guys got an idea how I can get to the back of my odometer?? Don't wanna do anything illegal (well, I do but better not risk it!) its just that it's stopped working.... it wants to tick over to 89000 miles but has got stuck at 88999 and has also stopped the trip mileage thing from working too. Is this a major arse about job or a piece of piss????? Any ideas gratefully received y'all. Cheers Steve
