There is a vacuum hose from the balance tube that goes to the vacuum guage that also goes on to a solenoid. Which solenoid does it go to?

 

Interestingly, my engine sound which is a bit rough sounds much smoother if I pinch this line closed with my fingers

It goes to the rectangular black box at the top of this picture.

I thought that this was the vaccum gauge sender unit. The line also goes to a solenoid that seem to be contiuously clicking unless I pinch the vacuum line
