Sad day today as my first zed i ever owned was towed away to a breakers yard. This was a 1991 NA which i originally purchased over 17 years ago, but unfortunately wasn't economic to repair due to excessive rust.

  2. Going to start this thread for members to post up what they did each day to there zed. I will start with getting my MOT this morning. So what did you do today on your 300?:cool3:

  3. Need assistance on issues with my 86 nissan 300zx. Wipers front and back not won't, a/C blower not working, cigarette lighter not working. Checked fuses and relays everything seems fine. Any help will be greatly appreciated. W.Moore

  4. Just adding to the mountain of praise on here for Jim, but I couldn’t not drop a review after the work he’s just finished on my Z32. We all already know Jimmer is the go-to guy for these cars, but experiencing it firsthand is something else. He has given the car a completely new lease of life. That rough idle is entirely sorted, and with the new injectors and new loom in, it honestly runs just like it’s come straight from the factory. His insight and attention to detail live up to every bit of the hype on this forum. Communication was top-tier throughout, the turnaround was incredibly quick, and—as everyone always says—it was very well-priced for the level of specialist e…

  6. My 2007 imported Z32 had h3c bulbs. I bought the car recently and it has a knackered HID system which I've taken out. I want to fit H3 bulbs is all. I'm having issues trying to figure out how to or where to earth the H3 bulb? Also, it's now illegal in the UK to have HID or LED lights in a car that didn't have them in the first place. (Some criteria online if you want to see), so mine will fail it's MOT in September if i don't fit H3C or H3 bulbs anyway. How can i earth these H3 bulbs please? As you know the ignition switch wiring for these means if i do it wrong, the lights will stay on permanently or something. Can someone explain an update to this query? As when i se…

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone knows whether the standard 18 inch 350z wheels would fit on a 300ZX and clear the K-Sport brakes that are on the front of mine currently? Hoping to get the current wheels refurbished before/after getting some work done at Jimmer's so trying to find something to put on temporarily if possible (would be trailered to Jimmer's and trailered/driven back depending on the wheel/tyre situation) Adam

Hi guys, Could I be cheeky and ask anyone with a mongoose exhaust how wide the diameter of the tailpipes are? I'm looking to get an exhaust made up and love the proportions of the Mongoose so looking for something like that but with shorter tailpipes Adam

As we age and our zeds age has anyone got a tool that's just as old if not older. 10 year old in me still calls it my Ray Gun.

  10. Howdy! "Long time listener, first time caller" here. A couple years ago I was lucky enough to get one of my dream cars, a 300zx, and all was well until it wasn't. A long story made not so long.. A friend of mine received a 1992 300zx NA 2+2 from his dad. He already had a good running car and doesn't know how to use a manual transmission, so he sold it to me. When I got the car it ran good, not great, but well enough to travel about 1500 miles back to my house. I've done a bunch of minor stuff like spark plugs, ignition coils, air filter, fuel filter and so on. The issue I am attempting to tackle now seems to be centered around the speedometer. Last year the cruise control…

  11. So i have a very late series zed and engine in my possession, mostly as a breaker. As i was looking for a spare TPS sensor i noticed this today . The TPS sensor and throttle body for it are of a newer design as follows :

  13. New to the Forums here and I'm hoping someone can help me with getting my analogue dash-lights working again. The story so far: After reinserting my HVAC unit (and radio) the dash lights stopped working. Checked dimmer switch: continuity established. Replaced light stalk switch. Headlamps, turn signals all good. Removed dash display to check connections and light bulbs. All are good. Checked fuses. Determined rear lights are working Side switch-pod lights work. Looked under the dash for disconnected wires. Nothing. Managed to stop the 'It's not the idiot lights it's you that's an idiot.' voice warning. All suggestions welcome.

  14. Tried to relocate the Oil Pressure sender using a sandwich plate but i'm not liken it much. So i'm looking to relocate it again and thought a good place was the capped off branch at the end of the oil tree. Does anyone know the size and where to find an adaptor so i can put the oil sender here ?

  16. Further to my earlier post about my car, I've decided to sell my 300ZX TT and wanted to give the community first refusal before I list it more widely. I'm sad to have to sell it as I only got it 4 months ago and it was a dream car for me. When I got it, I knew that at £8,000 it would have some issues. It has been serving me well. I've spent some time and money on it, trying to ensure that it ran well - putting new tyres on it, dealing with some leaks, and a variety of other jobs. So long as it kept running and I wasn't having to spend thousands on it, I was happy. Very happy. (You will see from the photos that I have used some black Gorilla tape to deal with a couple of s…

  18. I own a 1991 300zx 2+2 NA with only 91000. While driving the speedometer dropped to zero and the power steering stopped working. I pulled a Marty Mcfly and tapped on the top on the steering column and everything started working again. This vehicle is mainly stored and just occasionally driven not many miles on some weekends. I was able to repeat this same process on my cruises when it happened again, however on one drive I was unable to get the vehicle to regain the power steering and speedometer to read. I am no expert, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Sean

  21. Started by HoodCP,

I got a 300ZX back in January (as I posted about before). I knew it was a risk, that there were likely to be issues with it. In the end, I decided to only do the minimal work on it to keep it ticking over as long as possible (fixed some leaks, put some new tyres on it) & enjoy it while it still worked. Well, the other week, on the way up to Shrewsbury (from Cardiff), it gave up on the A49 near Hereford, where it was taken on the back of a lorry to be looked at. The garage has finally been able to take a look at it & it's effectively dead. To do any work on it, even before getting it to a repaired state, is going to be more than I'm prepared to spend on it. It's li…

  23. I RECEIVED YOUR END PIECES, THEY WORKED GREAT, UNFORTUNATELY I DID NOT USE ENOUGH GLUE ON THE DRIVER SIDE QUARTER PANEL TRIM. 96 300ZX TURBO I NEED MORE, PLEASE.

  24. so my wife and I inherited a 1996 300 Z. It’s naturally aspirated five speed, looks black, but it’s like a dark purple, beautiful car. Her father purchased it in 1998 with like 30,000 miles. For the most part, the car has been stored in a garage in Oregon and hardly driven. It has been in Phoenix now for the past five or six years. The car is in awesome condition and runs great. My question is what all is worth replacing while they’re in there doing the timing belt? I know there’s some pulleys and other accessory belts. I know many of them might be good, but if they’re not that expensive for quality parts, do I just go for it all? I should mention that the timing belt ha…
