Sad day today as my first zed i ever owned was towed away to a breakers yard. This was a 1991 NA which i originally purchased over 17 years ago, but unfortunately wasn't economic to repair due to excessive rust.

  2. Going to start this thread for members to post up what they did each day to there zed. I will start with getting my MOT this morning. So what did you do today on your 300?:cool3:

  3. Further to my earlier post about my car, I've decided to sell my 300ZX TT and wanted to give the community first refusal before I list it more widely. I'm sad to have to sell it as I only got it 4 months ago and it was a dream car for me. When I got it, I knew that at £8,000 it would have some issues. It has been serving me well. I've spent some time and money on it, trying to ensure that it ran well - putting new tyres on it, dealing with some leaks, and a variety of other jobs. So long as it kept running and I wasn't having to spend thousands on it, I was happy. Very happy. (You will see from the photos that I have used some black Gorilla tape to deal with a couple of s…

Is it just me, or is there a Z in the clouds......

  5. I own a 1991 300zx 2+2 NA with only 91000. While driving the speedometer dropped to zero and the power steering stopped working. I pulled a Marty Mcfly and tapped on the top on the steering column and everything started working again. This vehicle is mainly stored and just occasionally driven not many miles on some weekends. I was able to repeat this same process on my cruises when it happened again, however on one drive I was unable to get the vehicle to regain the power steering and speedometer to read. I am no expert, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Sean

I got a 300ZX back in January (as I posted about before). I knew it was a risk, that there were likely to be issues with it. In the end, I decided to only do the minimal work on it to keep it ticking over as long as possible (fixed some leaks, put some new tyres on it) & enjoy it while it still worked. Well, the other week, on the way up to Shrewsbury (from Cardiff), it gave up on the A49 near Hereford, where it was taken on the back of a lorry to be looked at. The garage has finally been able to take a look at it & it's effectively dead. To do any work on it, even before getting it to a repaired state, is going to be more than I'm prepared to spend on it. It's li…

  10. I RECEIVED YOUR END PIECES, THEY WORKED GREAT, UNFORTUNATELY I DID NOT USE ENOUGH GLUE ON THE DRIVER SIDE QUARTER PANEL TRIM. 96 300ZX TURBO I NEED MORE, PLEASE.

  11. so my wife and I inherited a 1996 300 Z. It’s naturally aspirated five speed, looks black, but it’s like a dark purple, beautiful car. Her father purchased it in 1998 with like 30,000 miles. For the most part, the car has been stored in a garage in Oregon and hardly driven. It has been in Phoenix now for the past five or six years. The car is in awesome condition and runs great. My question is what all is worth replacing while they’re in there doing the timing belt? I know there’s some pulleys and other accessory belts. I know many of them might be good, but if they’re not that expensive for quality parts, do I just go for it all? I should mention that the timing belt ha…

I have 1996 300zx automatic non turbo 2+0. So car starts up runs and drives but some times when hitting the gas pedal it feels like something is holding the car back the rpm’s get stuck around 2000rpms and car bogs down then other times cars runs fine rpm’s go up like normal no bogging. Could some green corroded wires for fuel pump be causing this issue? I also noticed the red wire going to pump doesn’t have much or any solder on it. Car has brand new 93 gas filled up all the way. I removed pump earlier and clean some of the connections with electrical contact spray and a small piece of sand paper and tommorow I plan on cleaning connections a little more and a lit…

  13. All my indicators lights are off and wont work at all. I don't get the indication on my dash either. I swapped the front and rear bulbs and swapped the Hazard switch. Fuses are good but still no lights. Has anyone dealt with this and found a fix?

Hello everyone! I've been having an issue with my 1987 300zx I picked up a few weeks ago. I got it running, but it will not idle below 1200rmp's. If I unplug the AFM, it goes down to 800, but it runs like crap. it has the Idle up Solenoid removed, I've checked the Idle air control valve, the TPS switch, and the Throttle body. I've also replaced all the vacuum lines save for the HVAC, which I capped off. Does anyone have any idea what this issue could be? It's about to drive me mad, and I'm trying to get this figured out soon so I can go smog it.

  16. Can anyone help me find where these go on the 300zx na? Located on back of plenum and connect together. I will have to order new ones of these: https://imgur.com/a/BSmjoN5 I can't seem to find which cable attaches to this, located on driver's side underneath plenum in the very middle. I have a cable in the next photo that attaches but do not know where the other end attaches to https://imgur.com/a/TCEP2J7 Cable that seems to attach to the sensor. Where does the other end go? https://imgur.com/a/PZUv1BB Finally, is this apart of the EGR? If so, the EGR was deleted on this car so these don't go anywhere? https://imgur.com/a/qqWEBQH Thank you all, for the help.

Hey all, found a brand new issue for my not so brand new car :) Installed a set of hatch struts the other day, and was having trouble threading the last end of one of them, so I look inside to see if something is obstructing it. Turns out, the part that you thread the strut into isn't where it's supposed to be. I'm not entirely sure what to do with this, but I'd much rather not have my strut digging into the trim whenever the hatch is closed, so anyone have an idea on a fix for this? Thank you for listening :)

  19. As per the "what did you do" thread I had to source a pair of replacement front calipers today, as mine have seized on the lower inner piston on both sides. After searching the 'net, I found a couple suppliers had them in stock. First being Torquen - albeit at over £600 for a pair for either cast iron or aluminium.. Then I found some fully rebuilt aluminium ones (the correct fitting for a TT) at less than half that, which got me thinking. Cast iron vs aluminium....?? Both seem to have their merits and drawbacks - the ali ones being much lighter, so less unsprung weight - whereas the iron ones allegedly handle the heat better, reducing the chance of disc warpage. If one be…

Hi. I was trying to figure out what body kit my Z32 has as it's nothing like I can find online, and I believe it's a UK-made Paul Bailey Designs kit from the 90s, it seems like these kits have rarely been mentioned anywhere online in the last 20 years, but to my understanding they were sought after back in the day but the man who made them has been unheard of since the 90s. I'm wondering if anyone here knows of these bodykits and if they know anything about what it may be worth? I'm close to parting out the Z due to structural rust issues but lost when it comes to potentially selling the bodywork. Just don't want it to go to waste if/when I give up on this project. I can…
