  • We did a video earlier this week, the Z hasn't been out the garage since July 2020. So happy for this, this is miles away from professional video, and the guy who helped me with the drone and editing,

  • These parts turned up from Specialty-Z today. Last significant items for the "bolt on" build. I'll post some more pictures of all the stuff I have collected over the years (literally!) in the "Project

  • Today nothing, but I did take the Zed out for a little drive the other day - and stopped for a couple of pics. Any excuse 😉

Dusted the zed off. Looking at some places to do a little work on the body before it goes up for sale as the garage is needed for my new toy.

Took mine out this evening for the first time (that wasn’t going to MOT and back!)

Took to the garage, stuck some V Power and redex in to give it a clean as it’ll have some old petrol in it!

Petrol gauge sort of works, didn’t go as high as I expected but it did register, so that’s a plus.

Dropped it off at a local garage who are going to do all the belts and a water pump for me!

Not today but I did collect the zed this week from Powerzed...new rear main seal and clutch, new series 2 injectors and wiring loom, new fluids (engine, gearbox, diff), plenum deletes and Jimmer went the extra mile to make the plenum look like new. Plus a bunch more and it has made a world of a difference, the car runs so smooth now, the drive back was an absolute blast.

Huge props to Jimmer and Powerzed.

Weekend trip to Ashbourne, Castleton,Cromford.

Today back to Capel Le Ferne from Oakhill Hotel Cromford 220 miles

In Ashbourne we stayed at the Royal Oak, lovely warm welcome, good food, great value.

Unfortunately cannot say the same at Oakhill which cost nearly twice as much!

Yesterday I replaced the air filter - then gave the Zed a clean and wipe down with Blazing Banana spray wax, before putting it back in the garage after using it as a daily last week.

I always buy a universal K&N cone "dry" filter for about £40 on Ebay. It does a decent job and instead of cleaning it I just throw it away and replace every two years. I must have left the last one on a bit longer though, as it was pretty black and gungy 🫢

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I didn’t do it but a local specialist did this week, cut out the rear portion of the sill where is corroded collecting cack as they do. Replaced the metal and re-shutz’d it. An oil change with a new Nissan oil filter. Straight through the MOT with no advisories. The sill is getting painted this week once the shultz has dried properly and then a good polish.

Monday took the slick top for a mot, first drive in 18 months, "what is this bumpy gocart, why did I like it" (my daily is anew defender)

Wednesday took it to work. "I remember why I love it"

Today I refreshed the "Twin Turbo" badge on my plenum. It was letting the engine bay down, after Jimmer worked his magic last month.....😉

....So I found a sticker on Ebay, which fits over the OEM badge - for a fraction of the cost of a new badge from Japan. If it doesn't last, then I'll shell out for a new badge, But for now, this looks OK!!

Hi all, tomorrow I am hoping to get my windscreen replaced!

3 months ago my windscreen developed a crack on the passenger’s side.

My insurance company told me to contact Autoglass which I did.

3 months later they informed me they could not source a windscreen.

It took me 2 days to track one down with YTW windscreens

And Pilkinton Glass can make them to order!

Now l have the windscreen with no clear precise instructions on how to get the side panels off without destroying them along with braking plastic clips & robber stoppers along the way that are nearly 30 years old.

Here are some photos

How to take off the side panel?

First lift the top up off the rail ! Do not bend it !,

When that is done the whole side panel slides out! Not with 30 years of dirt along the rails they don’t!

I have new side panels arriving at a cost of around £189

I have also ordered new side pillar trim Retainers as it suggested, but not needed !

Cost £216

The windscreen cost £654

Plus £200 windscreen fitted

Added insensitives £36 scuttle clips -square ones

£28 for new top plastic clips

All for love😀300ZX

I confidently took my zed round the block a few times today for the first time in over 8 years.

I even gave it a bit of boost and OMG - that was impressive.

Still a bit away from an MOT as i need to get the zed back up on stands and put all the engine covers on.

Aswell as prep work like get the reverse and fog lights working again.
