  1. Ive ordered the drop links, the correct ones! thanks for that. Im planning on taking my boot into a car part place and them sourcing one as im struggling to find any on line (except the £34 zedcentre one, thats £68 for two, ouch)... Any tips on sites I can go to, or just go with my plan?
  2. Interestingly my nickname from 2ndary school was "nips" and was nothing to do with japan/asia or anything. It wasnt until I moved to China in 2005 that I found out what Nips could mean...
  3. I think its set on 1080, but I cant remember. Im one of those people that doesnt see the point in buying something and no using it to its full potential. Seems a waste to record on 720 when it could be on 1080... I bought a 64GB card the other day for £16 so I think ill just get another and enjoy the HD goodness. Also clearing the card more than once every 3 months might help too!
  4. Ive had a few things done on the lead up to my MOT (spot of welding, tyres, etc) but yesterday during a fake MOT I have found the N/S rear anti roll bar drop link has snapped between the lower thread and the link (smooth bar section) so I need some links. Also the O/S steering rack gaitor looks like its been mauled by a tiger and is hanging off by a thread. A garage also advised me that the rear discs, pads, shoes and fittings could do with a change although off the record (!) he said they would be find for the MOT! A quick google (ebay actually) has found me this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NISSAN-300-ZX-1984-1990-FRONT-PAIR-STABILISER-ANTI-ROLL-BAR-DROP-LINK-x-2-/291420859604?fits=Model%3A300+ZX&hash=item43da096cd4:g:DLoAAOSwrx5UU5Ug and this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAPSPEED-NISSAN-200SX-S13-S14-S15-300ZX-Z32-REAR-ANTI-ROLL-BAR-DROP-LINKS-/151534563607?fits=Model%3A300+ZX&hash=item234829f117:g:ZeoAAOSwDwtUoq1v I might as well do all 4. Im struggling to find a steering rack gaitor though. Also I was looking for the seals for the rack as it is a tiny bit damp there (im guessing the gaitor has been off for a while and the seals are just starting to go) Does any one have the bits I need and I could purchase here to help someone out? Thanks p.s Black circles is where I got my two new tyres (245/45/16) on OEM rims. There was only one tyre, a toyo one. is that right? Is it really such a rare sized wheel/tyre combo?
  5. My wife bought me a Transcend 220. I mounted it right in front of the rear mirror, It can just see out under my sun strip and can barely been seen as the sun strip blocks most of it. I ran a 5M cable along the top of the screen, down the door pillar and under the dash to pop out in the cigarette lighter socket where I plugged it into a dual USB thing that was also charging my phone. One problem: The USB couldn't charge both at the same time as they draw too much current and the camera doesn't have a battery, so I bought a USB 12v converter thing, spliced it into the 5M USB and took power from the back of the radio. Now it powers on when I turn the key and the phone charges fine. In fact I was so happy with the USB 12v thing that I bought another to charge my tablet... The camera is well worth having although I needed to get a 64GB card for it as I kept filling the 16GB card up with 3 min videos of me going around roundabouts (The g-sensor even on low is a bit too sensitive for my driving sometimes.) I would like to wire it up so its recording 24/7 even when the car is turned off, but Im worried that after not using the car for 2/3/4 days I would have a flat battery and 2 days video of my underground car park...
  6. I disagree... Asians are best, more specifically Chinese from a city called Chengdu... aged at 29 years old and currently living in the UK
  7. Thank you, I got them the next day and fitted the bulb on monday. :D
  8. I quit cold turkey on the 1st. Its hard, but i've substituted Foxs mints for fags. Whenever I feel I need one I have a mint. It seems to be working and I can have a mint while driving where as I couldnt have a fag before. Stick at it, it does get easier...
  9. Cool. Nearer the time we can either make a thread or use this one to alert everyone
  10. I found a list on 't'interweb of things happening near by in Sussex. I have a feeling a lot of them will be classic cars in the form of skinny wheels, trafficators and a hamper strapped to the back, but have a look through the list and maybe we can go to a few? I would be interested in: - Southern Classics Spring Show Chichester College, Chichester 17 April 2016 - Ace Cafe London at Brighton InCarNation Madeira Drive Brighton 23 April 2016 - Magnificent Motors Eastbourne Western Lawns Eastbourne 30 April 2016-01 May 2016 - Classics on Parade Sussex Newhaven Fort 22 May 2016 - Southern Classics Summer Show Sussex Bentley Wildfowl and Motor Museum, Halland 12 June 2016 - SCS charity classic car Show Sussex Weald & Downland Open Air Museum, Amberley 24 July 2016 - Ringmer Steam and Country Show Sussex Upper Lodge Farm, The Broyle, Nr. I would like to do Simply Japanese again this year as I enjoyed that last year. Full list ist is found here: http://www.classicshowsuk.co.uk/classic-car-shows-events-search/classic-car-shows-by-county.asp
  11. Yes, Eastbourne it is. It was gone by mid-afternoon though. Now its just wet and windy...
  12. Woke up this morning to this: not bad for "The sunniest place in the UK". I think im going to dig the Z out and go for a play :whistling:
  13. Looks cool! But I have to ask, did you drop some red paint?
  14. Maybe because there is no "maybe" option. A simple yes/no is had to make people vote if they do want to go, but dont know what they will be working at the time. I have voted no because im sure I will be working (dont actually know yet) If by some good fortune im not, I would like to pop up for the day
  15. Its a transformer! I told my wife they were real...
  16. My father is a member of the MX5 owners club and he pays nearly £50 per year and gets a magazine a few times a year. Hes never got any bits for free from the forum and hasnt made use of any free advice (although I would worry if he was topping up his oil, let alone fitting new brakes!), So i think ours is a bargin. In terms of meets, how about each area manager posts a list of events going on in his/her areas and people can attend if they can? Members could be on the look out for events and let them know. For example this year its the Eastbourne Magnificient Motors on Saturday 30th April and Sunday the 1st May 2016. I would be more than happy to turn up with one of our banners. Ive got 2 cars and my mate has five, so just the two of us could make a pretty good stand, add on the 5 others ive seen in Eastbourne and that doesnt include all the other guys down here in the south.
  17. Yes that's my bad. I was thinking of japfest!
  18. Speaking as a newbie (just over one year on here and very little posts/experience and not really knowing many of you guys) heres my experience: 1) I went to the Classic car show 2014 and saw the 300zx.co.uk stand with 3 cars on it. I'd always wanted a 300, but seeing a red one with balloons in it (sorry i cant remember whos car it was) made me want one even more. Later that year when I got my first one, within 24 hours I had signed up and paid to use this site. 2) Over the past year of using this site, I have made friends, had a laugh at threads, been helped out more times than I can count and bought items from other members helping them financially and stopping ebay from taking my hard earnt cash. 3) I went to my first car show (simply Japanese) and loved it. Even though my car was the worse there (Missing paint on rear bumper, scrape on front, covered in dust from queuing in the car park) I didnt feel shunned or that my car was crap. I met a few of the people I had been posting with here and had a good chat with Phoenix, not to mention seeing all your cars and giving me further enthusiasm to complete mine (and buy another one ). Do I think I got my £20 (£10 for re-sub)? Yes I do. I would happily pay that money for the past year. The help/advice alone has saved me £60/hour getting car problems diagnosed at a garage and it has given me the confidence to work on my own car (i'd never change oil/oil filters, brakes, radiator, etc by myself before) Do I think there is room for improvement? Yes. Meeting regularly would be great, however we all have jobs and most of us have families that take up a lot of time. My job for instant never has the same days off every week, so it hard for me to pin down free time. Also when a meeting is on, some people like to do donuts in a cark park, some like to drive somewhere and others enjoy going on an epic road trip (please see my monte carlo thread). so after pinning down a time, pinning down what a meeting will be makes it even harder. Distance has a part to play too, our nissans do something like 20mpg, so driving 50miles to a meet is getting on for 1/2 tank there and back and thats, what, a good £40? Add on the lunch/dinner/drinks. A lot of people with said families find it hard to blow £100 to stand in a car park and look at the same car they own! That all being said, Im up for more meets, more to meet you guys than do donuts... As Ive never been to JAE (hoping to this year) I cant comment, however as the organisers have changed the location (turned over a new leaf perhaps) maybe this is a cue for us to do the same? Ask the members what they expect for JAE, what they would like and see if we can plan around that? as always my posts are open to criticism and I welcome it, but you will receive a horses head on your pillow the next morning...:lol:
  19. Awwww One of my favourite actors of all time... 2016 isnt starting very well, is it...
  20. Sorry to dig up an old thread, if ive read this right, my import NA 1990 300zx will have the 28mm thinner discs? I guess I should measure them just incase one of its previous owners has put TT calipers on it?
  21. D'oh.... How did I miss that?! I'm thinking of joining in this, just need to ask the wife if she wants in too
  22. That's very kinda of you. How much would you like for shipping?
  23. This might seem a silly question, but after looking through the website I cant find what time it starts? Its 3 hour drive for me, so was thinking of just coming for the day, but need to know what time to leave.
  24. Excellent, thanks for the help. I found these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1x-10W-1156-382-BA15S-P21W-CREE-LED-CANBUS-BULB-RED-BRAKE-FOG-LIGHTS-ALL-CAR-/161940233919?hash=item25b463debf:g:MI4AAOSwstxVV6jF http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lucas-LLB382R-12V-21W-Bulb-Car-Single-Flasher-Stop-Tail-Fog-Brake-Fog-382-Red/291026359537?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3Df29239e25a064d66878c192ad82fc8f3%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D291026359537 Which would be better? Thanks
