TheRealNips Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I quit cold turkey on the 1st. Its hard, but i've substituted Foxs mints for fags. Whenever I feel I need one I have a mint. It seems to be working and I can have a mint while driving where as I couldnt have a fag before. Stick at it, it does get easier... dutchgold92 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 The missus quit a couple of years ago using the eCigs. Cut down gradually over a few months - went really well for her. May have helped that she developed an allergy to them towards the end though  Quote
spiff Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 First week is the hardest, get through that and it gets easier. I know alot of people who have downloaded an app to keep motivation up, don't know about any English ones but might be worth a try :-) didn't have anything like that when I quit five years ago but I was fine, did eat alot though and I did often smoke when out drinking at first but after a while I just didn't bother with it. It doesn't taste good after a while... Sent fra min C6903 via Tapatalk Quote
NicciZ Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I tried going cold turkey nearly killed the hubby so bought an elites e-cig I've gone from 20 cigs a day to 20 cigs a week, only smoke when I'm at work and as much as I'd like to give that up I can't lol Quote

Mondo Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I quite a few years ago using Champix - it was ludicrously easy and I was a non-smoker for a year or so. :) But then I decided to try one, just to prove I could and not start again, and that was pretty much the end of that! :( Keep up the good work, Ted :thumbup1: Quote
Funkysi Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Won't make any difference to your health if you eat to many burgers and cakes. Lol If you do exercise, that's not a problem. Exercise won't cancel out the effects of smoking however. ;) Quote
