Looking for inspiration on how to cleanly affix a dashcam to a Z32 (so pics please), as the missus got me a cheap one a few weeks back which does the job. It's certainly not the easiest car to get a neat cam setup, with the position of the cigarette lighter and most of the windscreen being out of reach!

Currently I just have it mounted below the mirror with the wires dangling. It's one of these.

That way has been suggested to me. I'm a bit unwilling to remove the center console again though as the back of it has almost completely disintegrated at this point :\

Down the door pillar, round the back of the instrument binnacle where you force into joint and then straight down and it'll be invisible.

You could wire in a permanent accessory power supply to sit in the footwell and connect it to that You probably need the to use the power supply that came with it

My wife bought me a Transcend 220. I mounted it right in front of the rear mirror, It can just see out under my sun strip and can barely been seen as the sun strip blocks most of it. I ran a 5M cable along the top of the screen, down the door pillar and under the dash to pop out in the cigarette lighter socket where I plugged it into a dual USB thing that was also charging my phone. One problem: The USB couldn't charge both at the same time as they draw too much current and the camera doesn't have a battery, so I bought a USB 12v converter thing, spliced it into the 5M USB and took power from the back of the radio. Now it powers on when I turn the key and the phone charges fine. In fact I was so happy with the USB 12v thing that I bought another to charge my tablet...

The camera is well worth having although I needed to get a 64GB card for it as I kept filling the 16GB card up with 3 min videos of me going around roundabouts (The g-sensor even on low is a bit too sensitive for my driving sometimes.) I would like to wire it up so its recording 24/7 even when the car is turned off, but Im worried that after not using the car for 2/3/4 days I would have a flat battery and 2 days video of my underground car park...

Maybe you could reduce the video quality? 16GB is more than enough for mine and the quality is good enough, though not quite the 1080p advertised (it might be on a lower setting - haven't checked).

I think its set on 1080, but I cant remember. Im one of those people that doesnt see the point in buying something and no using it to its full potential. Seems a waste to record on 720 when it could be on 1080... I bought a 64GB card the other day for £16 so I think ill just get another and enjoy the HD goodness. Also clearing the card more than once every 3 months might help too!

Surely when it runs out of space it should overwrite old recordings that haven't been set to keep? Like a Sky+ box.

It does, but when you leave it as long as I do and it keeps recording every roundabout it soon fills up. I could go slower round corners, but where's the fun in that?
