OK guys a simple poll to gauge interest in this years JAE show. The feed back from last year was not great from some members and now the entry prices have gone up from £30 to £45 on advanced tickets and £60 at the gate. No Saturday entry price you still pay £45 (or £60 at the gate)

Please post up your thoughts also and this will let the club know where we stand and what the members want to do.

Thanks Guys.

I'm interested but will have to decide closer to the time - it's more expensive and time-consuming coming from here! I'd vote "Tentative" if possible.

Cost me £500 plus from Belfast Jay

There are a number of reasons that I haven't gone and am unlikely to go next year either....or rather this year now! Firstly, the show itself does not interest me in the slightest. Their website is terrible and seems to promote the fact that they have 5-a-side-football, a disco and tug-of-war as their main attractions - this is a car show, is it not? It's not in a central location, it's bloody miles away and lastly, a lot of these static type multi-marque events seem to attract the wrong type of people and with it, the wrong type of vehicle and it just isn't the sort of thing I'm interested in. From photos of the rest of the site, it appears more akin to those awful FastCar type shows in Doncaster.

Appreciate it is what you make it and that people do seem to enjoy the 300zx stand. But camping in a muddy field with a lot of chavs just isn't for me I'm afraid.

I have probably joined the pipe-and-slippers brigade who wear cloth caps and brogues, but I prefer that scene!

I'm genuinely unsure at this point in time as it'll depend on money and workload for me, so I'm not going to know til nearer the date.

I'm stunned they've hiked the price up so brutally though!!

I have been for the last 6 years, last 4 i have camped, will have to pull you up Si - not once have i seen mud but luckily the weather has been incredibly dry and warm.

I enjoy the banter, 75% of lads i know very well.

I did feel very let down in 2015, it just felt like the club didn't bother/care about it and it's members, although the food put on was the best in all the years i have been.

The price is a damn cheek for 2016 and imo pretentious, don't forget this is probably without the 'booking fee', last year i paid £32.50 all in.........to me this was pushing it but the increase quoted will most probably have me look elsewhere.

It's a no from me I'm afraid, for the money it would cost I could go to the Paris Motor show for the weekend:thumbup1: Not that I can afford that either:biggrin:

We must organise an Irish show for us all to attend this year though.

Those won't be 78 different people though.

Each view is counted. I've viewed this thread 4 times already. Many others will have multiple views too.

Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now)

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

Are there any big car shows over there? sounds odd but I'd be up for a trip if it was a big one.

There are a few great shows North and South on the Island of Ireland and its about time you guys come over here for a change :)

Ditto. Always wanted to visit Ireland and a Zed roadtrip would be an ideal opportunity!

And the problem with that is...????????

Most of the "views" are not from real people at all.:whistling:

Spiders and their mates from cyberspace never post on forums:lol::lol:

I was only thinking that if I got my parents house for the weekend there would be plenty of space for parking, camping, BBQ and it wouldn't cost much, €100 for a large striploin, sausages, burgers, salad etc and BYOB:thumbup:

I wasn't suggesting you all come over, but that would be cool if anyone is up for it

The big shows would be Terenure Classics and Japfest. There's an indoor one too but that's more NEC-style.

No worries Jay, it's secure with auto gates and cameras, you could park 20-30 Z's around the house, it has a large shed if the weather turned crap, 3 miles from the town of Carlow, 50 from Dublin / Wexford / Waterford etc, 20 from Kilkenny, Large grass area for camping etc. Hell my parents spend most of their time cruising around the world:boat::biggrin:
