  1. Looks similar to mine mate. Give Mark at Outlander a call (traders section) he may be able to source one for you. Richard :smw:
  2. Just rang Carole Nash to renew my zx insurance - £270 - and mentioned the mileage. Basically I agreed to 5000 per annum last year but the policy says anything over 6000 will void the insurance. Anyway I told them I did around 5700 miles last year but I don't believe I would exceed 5k this time. The nice girl on the phone said "Don't worry about it - no extra cost" :hyper: Excellent! Richard :D
  3. In Japan production cars are not allowed 45 profile tyres out of the factory - hence J-spec cars run 225/50/16 all round. The wider rear tyres and different spec HICAS in UK/EEC spec ZXs are down to the fact that over here we drive greater distances and at higher speeds than the Japanese. J-spec cars are limited to 112mph whereas UK/EEC spec cars are limited to 155mph. Our roads are also twistier than those in Japan - again the benefit of wider rear tyres is necessary here. HTH Richard :D
  4. Hey Si Legally he should remove your numberplates immediately and replace them with the registration DVLA allocated to his car upon transferring the reg to your ZX. I doubt anyone will pick him up for it, unless he has a crash on the way over ;) Remember to tell both your insurance companies too! Richard :D
  5. Hi Fas, Depends on the broker/insurer really. Some will insure you on a classic policy, others will not unless you are over 25. Either way you will most definately need to run an everyday car as well. Richard :smw:
  6. When they first announced this project last series I thought WTF spend a fortune on a Lotus Esprit, then try and get 200mph out of it??? Surely a better bet would have been a Skyline R33 GTR or a Supra TT. Both of those would have been cheaper to buy and easier/cheaper to tune in order to reach 200mph - plus loads more reliable ;) Richard :D
  7. About half a tonne if it is - and 99% of stock spoilers are ;) Richard :D
  8. I have classic insurance with Carole Nash, they do 3, 5 or 6k miles per year. When I took out the policy last year I could have chosen either limit as it was only an estimate of how many miles I would drive in the ZX. The chap told me if I picked a lower limit but exceeded it, I would have to pay an additional premium at renewal time. But their higher limit is 6k p/a after which I would not be insured. So if I went for, say, a 3k miles p/a policy but actually drove 4k miles they would charge me for a 5k miles p/a policy at renewal and cover for the earlier year would not be affected. HTH Richard :smw: PS Sorry to hear about your accident mate :(
  9. I fitted a j-spec nose to my red ZX with the original black Z-badge and it looked OK. Then just to be different I replaced it with the red one from Z-centre and IMO it actually looks better! ;) Try it for yourself mate. Richard :smw:

Reckon so too mate! Richard :smw:
  11. 99.99999999999999999999999999999% certain it's condensation from the a/c. It drips on the exhaust at the back left hand side of the engine. My ZX does this - always has done. There is no loss of coolant or any other fluid and the a/c works perfectly. In the summer, once the engine has cooled there is sometimes a small puddle of water under that spot. It's clear with no signs of antifreeze - nothing to worry about mate! Richard :D
  12. That one of my favourites  The Sid The Sexist charm school - can't beat it ;) Richard :D
  13. Fekking twat - who in their right mind would do that  Deserves all he got IMO  Richard
  14. Agree with you totally there Mark - 200 years and then some! As the ceremonial practices of most other religions have roots in Pagan rituals too. In fact it's really quite refreshing to discuss this with a Christian who will openly accept it is true! ;) Richard :smw:
  15. Congratulations to you both mate. You'll have a truly fantastic day but it will pass soooo quickly. I got married 5 years ago and still remember it like it was yesterday  Don't worry about speeches etc, the groom's is easy! Just the customary thank-yous and a couple of quick jokes and that is it really. The best man has the real important one! I wrote mine whilst on the toilet the night before ;) All the best, Richard :smw:
  16. Exactly Mark! On a turbo car then no back-pressure = more performance. On an n/a a little back pressure is supposed to be better than none at all. Just read that somewhere...... ;) Richard :D
  17. OK mate! Carole Nash £270 - limited mileage of 6000 p/a and agreed value of £5k, must be a second car though - I use the Rav most of the time. I'm also allowed the odd commute to work but no business use. Uk spec auto, blue flame exhaust, air filter upgrade and Azev alloys. I'm 35 years old, licence since 17 (clean), 1 accident last year and live in a low-ish crime rated area in south Buckinghamshire. Richard ;)
  18. Mine just came in at £270 FC with Carole Nash - classic policy 6000 miles per year. That's cheaper than I pay for the Rav, which was £288 FC with Admiral  Richard :D
  19. Have to agree with the first post. Tyres are the only point of contact you have with the road so should never be skimped on. Especially on such a heavy high performance car like a ZX. Cheapo tyres may have the right speed rating but they are cheap because they are made to poorer standards. Goodyears and Bridgestones are trusted, tried and tested by F1 cars - good enough testimony for me  I only use top branded rubber on all my cars - the Rav has Dunlops (which are known as the best choice for a Rav4) and the Corsa runs on Michelins. As it is not unknown for me to drive either car at a prolonged 90-100mph I won't take the chance. Richard :smw:
  20. Reminds me of the story about the man who wakes up to find his garage being broken into, in which he keeps a valuable classic car. Being a law abiding chap he calls the police to which the response is "I'm sorry sir, we can't send anyone round for 2 hours." "But they are here now, you'll catch them in the act if you come now" "I'm sorry sir, we have no-one available for at least 2 hours" Five minutes later the man calls the police again and says "It's me again - I called to tell you about the scrotes breaking into my garage. Well there's no hurry now, I've just shot them!" Within 5 minutes there are 3 police cars, 2 vans and the local helicopter with countless coppers at his house. They see the 2 scrotes just about to enter the garage and arrest them. The chief officer says to the man "I thought you said you had just shot them?" The man replies "I thought you couldn't send anyone for 2 hours!" :D
  21. The obvious answer lies neatly between the two ;) USA is full of gung-ho gun toting crazy gangstas and hillbillies (or "sons of the soil ;) ) who would sooner shoot you than say hello; whilst over here honest law-abiding citizens are powerless to stop an intruder without fear of being prosecuted themselves :( . I believe that of someone breaks into your house with the inten to commit a crime they should automatically have no human rights, anything you do to them should be legal as they shoud not be there in the first place. Similar should apply to your car PROVIDING IT'S ON YOUR PROPERTY. If it's on the road that's a grey area, although if they have broken in and are still inside that's grounds for the baseball bat :x: Once caught and convicted the little scrotes should be dealt a swift kicking or locked in the stocks for a day to teach them a harsh lesson. But no, what does this government do? Give them a free holiday to the Carribean   Who say's crime doesn't pay  Richard
  22. FMPSL  I remember that from a few years back   fekking nutter! Richard :D
  23. I got this one - I removed all other badging and just have this on the spoiler. Richard :D
  24. The ones sold by Mark at Outlander are excellent - I believe these are the same ones Danny sells now. Got mine in the group buy last Xmas for £199 - simple plug & play in 15 minutes and the results are oustanding  Richard :D
