What did you do to your zed today?
Today I refreshed the "Twin Turbo" badge on my plenum. It was letting the engine bay down, after Jimmer worked his magic last month.....😉 ....So I found a sticker on Ebay, which fits over the OEM badge - for a fraction of the cost of a new badge from Japan. If it doesn't last, then I'll shell out for a new badge, But for now, this looks OK!!

Hello and welcome to the club...! As everyone says, Jimmer is your man for all 300zx-related works - albeit Yorkshire is a bit far from Gloucestershire. But it will be worth the trip!! Good luck with your new toy,

RIP Esther Rantzen
For those of us of a certain age, we grew up watching Esther Rantzen on "That's Life" of a Sunday evening..... She made us laugh, she made us cry, but sadly she has just passed away. RIP Esther - another sad loss.

NEC 2026 - your club needs you!!
Not about our choice, but ultimately who is actually willing to commit for the duration..... The year you refer to was 2024, and the only three who stepped up all had red cars. Decision made for us. If you want different coloured cars on show, and you have one and are willing to commit, step up, as the saying goes......😉

NEC 2026 - your club needs you!!
Evening all - and thank you to everyone who has offered their time and cars for the show...! We certainly have more interest than the three cars needed, and as yet no decision has been made (IE no votes cast) with regards exhibitors. Which leads me onto the deciding factor.... The club is not in a position to pay for exhibitors' accommodation, due to the financial outlay and the benefit such expense has to each and every member. Whilst we may be able to make a nominal contribution, please bear in mind that you would have to cover any costs yourselves. Which is why I ask once more, who is prepared to step up and commit to the whole thing? In the past, I have organised an Air B&B to mitigate costs - but due to the difficulty in meeting everyone's requirements, I would rather leave that to the exhibitors to manage themselves as necessary. If you are still interested, please do let me know!

Some TLC for my Zed
I collected my Zed yesterday afternoon - and have to say what a great job Jim has done... The new loom and injectors have transformed the car, the engine runs so much smoother and feels more responsive. I needn't have worried about the suspension, it looks lower in the photos than it actually is. It's still on the low side, but Jim has set everything up well - not too harsh, but it also handles just nicely. The steering wheel is dead straight, after Jim replaced the rack bushes and track rod ends and performed a laser alignment - something the usual tyre places often fail to get right. Suffice to say, I enjoyed the 100 mile drive home - definitely well worth the trip. Thanks Jim🤩

Some TLC for my Zed
And now ready to collect tomorrow.... However I am a little concerned about the new coilovers! Jim installed them at the highest setting - but they are still very low when compared to my old Meister Rs. Speed humps could be a real issue!!!

Some TLC for my Zed
Whilst fitting the new track rod ends Jim spotted the steering rack bushed were toast - so he replaced these too.....

Some TLC for my Zed
It was all going so well - albeit I knew there had been a slight misting of fluid on top of the NSF coilover strut..... And when Jim put the Zed on the ramps to sort the new track rods ends, speed sensor etc,. that coilover gave up....!! Luckily it happened whilst the car was still at Powerzed!! Jim recommended a set of HSD coilovers from Driftworks - I ordered them on Tuesday and they arrived yesterday, ready for him to fit. It might be there a few more days than anticipated, but it will be coming back much better than before; in more ways than I originally expected😄

Hi and welcome to the club Jerry!

Some TLC for my Zed
I remember you saying so at Beaulieu a few years back - and Jim mentioned yours, so my mind was made up!!

Some TLC for my Zed
I have had the odd running issue with my Zed the last couple of months - an intermittent miss-fire when cold, sticky throttle after a long fast run, and the speed sensor failed again last week after trying Jeff's old epoxy resin fix a while back..... ....So I did what we advise everyone else to do and called Jimmer. Jim recommended the full engine loom replacement, new ethanol friendly injectors, ERG delete, new rocker cover gaskets and a plenum tart-up with new bolts etc., to improve the engine bay appearance! So I dropped the car at Powerzed on Monday morning and Jim sent me the first progress pictures today! And while it's there he'll be fitting a few other new parts, including the brand new OEM speed sensor I got from Japan. More pics to follow no doubt😉

NEC 2026 - your club needs you!!
Good day all, As you know, we have been exhibiting at the NEC classic motor show every year since 2014 (covid aside) - and once again, we have been fortunate to get offered a club stand this year. The show takes place Friday November 13th to Sunday November 15th inclusive - so your car would have to be on the stand from Thursday 12th until the show closes around 5pm Sunday evening. Details of the show are here Classic Motor Show | The UK's Premier Classic Motor Event Our stand is in hall 5, number 5-720 - approx. 8 x 7m, large enough for three cars. So, I'm looking for volunteers - three cars please - plus your good selves to man the stand for the duration.... This is a great event; just ask anyone who has exhibited in the past! Register your interest here or drop me a PM if you'd like any further info. Thanks in advance🙂
