Descisions Descisions, 93 TT auto or 91 TT Manual
What he said, really. Drive both and see what you prefer. The auto box is a good set-up so there is no performance difference in either variant. There are a few dogs out there - lots of "£2000" ebay junk, so buy carefully. If you have no preference in auto/manual then just buy the best, most cared for example. Richard :smw:

Headlight bulbs
I got mine from Outlander when he was a trader here, in a group buy almost 2 years ago. DTA do a nice kit now though - go for that! Richard :smw:

Headlight bulbs
Unless you buy real HID it's just a gimmick. The blue coating actually robs the headlights of light output - especially in the dipped beams of a ZX. The projector beams have that opaque lens..... If you don't want to stretch to an HID conversion, modify the H3C on a J-spec (not necessary for a UK car) to the H3 bulb and fit Osram Super or silverstar bulbs. They don't give the "blue" effect but you can actually see at night! I have done the HID conversion and it really is worth the money :hyper: Richard :D

Barryboys 635 csi...
Wise words there Si  I bet the same b@stard would put a body-kit on an E-type or DB5 :nono: Some cars should be left as the manufactuer originally intended - they are now classics for a reason :nono: Richard

The instructions from a fire extinguisher at my old office.... "CAUTION, Do not hold horn during discharge!!!" .....That was real, honest  Richard :smw:

where do you get your alloys from?
Try http://www.dtmotorsport.co.uk They are the UK importers for Azev rims, besides a few other makes. Dave there knows his stuff and will give a good price! Richard :D

Classic car insurance
You may be lucky....... .....but to qualify for classic insurance you must have a company car or another daily driver. The insurers will only give classic car cover where the ZX is a second "occasional use" car. You may find it trouble at 18 as well..........but you'll never know unless you ask! Richard ;)

Important: Get Signing To Save Top Gear
My thoughts too. Other TV programs are too PC to even contemplate some of the thing TG do. It's all about fun and real cars. Leave the crap to 5th gear - did you see tonight's? Complete tosh - scrap 5th gear instead :slap: Richard  PS Signed to save TG too BTW

Gas and electricity
I currently pay British Gas just over £50 per month to cover both gas and electricity for 2 of us in a 3 bedroom semi. It just about covers the annual charges - heavily in credit for the summer but by the end of winter I'm still just in credit. Make your Mrs wear a jumper mate! Richard

5th gear starting now
Still can't say I'd be tempted...... .....Not after FunkySi's post comparing her to Rik Mayall a few months back :D Pissed myself when I saw that  Richard

Nooooo! Let's just leave Vicky in the swamp from whence she came. Scrap 5th gear and bring Tiff back to TG for the proper driving

5th gear starting now
Absolute load of old shite  The program has gone too PC and mainstream - it has absolutely no appeal to any car enthusiast whatsoever and I for one will not bother with this crock of w@nk again. VBH is (and I never thought it possible) even more annoying now she seems to have been given some kind of top billing. As for Tim Lovejoy - stick to the radio FFS. I reckon he's the long lost brother of Micky Webb from "The Bill"...... Time to scrap this worthless rubbish methinks  Richard :mac1:

Easy way through???

Hi mate, Sorry for late reply - I just noticed your post :slap: It was parked up briefly in the town centre on the 9th (Saturday afternoon), outside a chemist and tourist info place! So if you saw a red one with Azev 5 spokes and a '99 spec front, reg ##RFS it was me  I have to say, I've never seem so many camera signs as I did last week............didn't see a camera though :mac1: Richard

Advice needed on a vehicle
The Shogun does look nice and its off road ability is pretty good too. Although Pajero is Spanish for w@nker...... Anyway, they can be thirsty and are not all that quick, even in 3000v6 petrol form. I did think of buying one a couple of years ago but got a Rav-4 instead. OK it's not in the same class, but it drives more like a car and the 2 litre petrol is faster and more economical than the Shogun. Although fuel economy during a drive to Cornwall at 100mph did turn out worse than the ZX would have achieved..... .....Still I did quite liked it so I've bought a later shape 3 door Rav now; with the side steps, fat alloys etc it looks as good as the Shogun even though it is only a "soft roader." I don't care though - Julia drives it everyday, anyway. Richard ;)

Is Robbie Williams a ****
I voted "yes" here. I do like (some of) his music, although he sounds like he is past his best now. However he comes across as a jumped up twat and definately isn't fit to lick the boots of true rock gods like Queen etc etc. Richard :p

£30K job or stay on the dole?
Fekking hell, that makes my blood boil as much as that thread about the chappie "revving his car in a racist manner!!!" This country has really gone down the poo shute. Blair's Britain - it is nothing to be proud of now, is it. The national average wage is around £23-26k if surveys are to be believed yet this waste of skin can turn down a £30k p/a job because of what he gets on the dole??? No wonder my taxes are so damn high - I feel like I'm buying the country rather than contributing to the running of it; as the tax and employees NI deducted from my salary amount to more than my wife's gross earnings :nono: Now if I could do a deal with the government that I pay no more tax, she could give up her £18k p/a job and stay at home. I could pay her and we'd be in the same position....... Richard :mac1:

What are the courts thinking?????
Now I've really heard it all..... ....."revving his engine in a racist manner"......WTF????? I think I would have also told the copper to fvck off at hearing that. Daft b@stard wants sacking from the 'force for that one and any magistrate who can even think of convicting on those charges needs burning at the stake. I don't think I'm being at all harsh in my comments, so if I've offended anyone, LIGHTEN UP AND GET A FEKKING LIFE FFS!!! Rant over :slap: Richard ;)
