My valve caps nicked AGAIN
I have some "Z" badged ones and so far (say 8 months or so) they have stayed on the car. I reckon those of you who have had yours nicked must either live or park your ZXs in chav-towns........... :slap: ;) Richard

Respect for the ZX.......again
Hi all Just thought I'd post about how cool everyone thinks the 300zx is...... Driving to work in the week, I was just turning out of my road when a black 3000gto turned into my road from the main road. The driver slowed down, giving me the nod and thumbs up..... Just a little further as I turned the next corner, my window open to appreciate the V6 rumble, when a group of school girls began pointing and commenting on "what a cool car that is" Then today I decided to give the ZX a wash. 3 people walked past during the course of cleaning it, they all commented on it being a nice car. One middle aged chap stopped for a bit of a chat on how he had always liked the 300zx, he said it was one of the best looking cars ever built..... Of course we all know that....... ;) Richard :D

What is it about Slicktops??!!
I have to agree, the slicktop does look better next to a targa with the roofs in place. The whole car looks sleeker. As for the 350z, they do a horrid convertible, though :slap: They look really pants with the roof up. Now if Nissan had made the 350z with a metal folding roof, I'd have one - that's why I bought an SLK. Why didn't they? they did it with the Micra...... Richard :p

lights on
After clicking the reply bit, just delete the text you don't want from their post, but keep all the [brackets] in place and leaving the words you want to keep... I don't know how to post up multiple quotes though - as some have done here..... Richard

Classic car show
The NEC has its annual classic motorshow on 27-29 October this year. Anyone planning on going? I shall probably be going on the Saturday........ Richard

lights on
Very true! Headlights are mandatory in bad weather anyway but that would be pointless in normal conditions. Although I have been known to use headlights when driving faster than average on a motorway in all but sunny weather. It does make others notice you and stops a lot of drivers pulling in front of you...... ;)

What is it about Slicktops??!!
I find targas of is OK when it's no hotter than 25 degrees. after that I get too hot and prefer the roofs on and a/c going nice and cold........

lights on
And then there are the tossers that put their rear fog lights on when they see a bit of mist :slap: Can't the dozy feckers understand the idea is for other drivers to see them, not so they can see what's behind them. Read your highway code FFS, only use them when visibility is below 100m - if you can see the car in front of you when it doesn't have rear fogs on then you don't need yours........ :nono: And then the twats leave them switched on for the next 3 weeks when there is no linger a slight mist and keep blinding everone at night....... Rant over!!

What is it about Slicktops??!!
A contributory factor there could be that your slicktop is a SWB and yout t-top is a LWB. When the targas are in place flex will be reduced a bit, the slickie should be stiffer but I'd say the overall advantage is the weight. I prefer the targas though..... :p Richard

Bang!!
Me too, that's a fine ZX you have too  Remember, the insurers can't insist you go to their recommended repairer. As the vehicle owner, you always have the choice. Good luck, Richard

Ferrari designers have lost their way.
That 599 has a touch of TVR about it...... ......but not one of the nice ones :smash: I liked the 355 too - it looked like a Ferarri should look, in the same way as the 308/328gtb did  F40 is still one of my faves, but a little sparse inside...... I also like the 456gt, in dark metallic blue with beige leather. Very understated GT car :p Richard :D

Hicas ellimination
I kind of agree there Vini - I'd NEVER lose the air con!! Just like I'd not buy a ZX (or any other car for that matter) without it. There have been some fine ZXs sold here (Zelda for example) but without a/c I just would not be interested........ :mac1: Richard

13.8 seconds!
Doesn't a Pork 911 engine virtually drop straight into a beetle? Of course I don't mean the new 993/996 engines or even the 3.3 turbo, but certainly some of the older, smaller engines may. That would give the little bug a fair turn of speed...... ......still wouldn't have one though. Not my kind of thing ;) Richard :D

So you think 300zx is ban happy?
My thoughts too Vini :smash: Richard ;)

What weaponry would you want to confidently attack a swan?
Yeah, leave the swans alone! If you are near a river or lake and and a swan looks like he/she may do you harm, just feed it. Give the poor thing some bread and it will soon become friendly...... And to add to Chris's post, there is supposedly a pub in Tewksbury that is allowed by royal charter to remove a limited number of swans from the river Severn each year to serve up as food. Apparenty King John stopped off there back in the 12th century and fancied roast swan for lunch. The landlord said he wasn't allowed to cook swan as they all belonged to His Majesty, so not wanting to go hungry King John granted the inn permission - which is still in force today. ;) Richard

pearl yellow uk or not
Don't Paul C and Cybernet have UK spec cars - theirs are metallic blue and metallic gun metal grey, respectively? There were a few different colours for UK cars - more on series one models though. I think the colour choice wasn't so extensive on later cars. One thing is for sure, silver was never a option here as well as pearl white. Richard

pearl yellow uk or not
Certainly was on series one cars, Si....! It was a flat yellow though - the chap who owns a music store in Maidenhead bought his in the early 1990s. He still has it today, it's an H plate, definately a UK spec car and he bought it from a Nissan dealer one previous owner FSH etc etc. Richard
