  1. Mine too  No problems in 3 years/25k miles - I still trust my ZX more than my other 2 much newer cars. Richard
  2. Quite liked the soundtrack though................ :wack:
  3. What he said  It helps prevent faded paint etc. If you T-cut an old car (say 1984 or earlier) you will notice some colour residue on the polishing rag, as the T-cut removes the top oxidized layer of paint. However T-cut a car from the late 1980s onward and there will be no such residue. The polish simply renovats the top layer of "clear laquer" Richard :)
  4. Great answer....... .......BTW for my UK car, regular unleaded works just fine
  5. Exactly what mine takes! (UK spec TT auto) Richard :)
  6. I remember someone telling me the wiring was there. I believe that all UK spec cars with leather had an electric driver's seat but those with (rare for UK spec) had manual seats. Richard :)
  7. My thoughts too mate, glad you are OK :) Damn shame about your Z though - that was a fine late UK spec too :( All the best, Richard
  8. I have to agree there too. And I'm an old fart  Pierce Brosnan had the wit of Codger Moore and the action/style of Sean Connery. Pure class. Timothy Dalton's 2 films were very good - especially The Living Daylights (Plus an ex GF of mine was the image of Maryam D'Abo - the blond cello player in case anyone's forgotten :p ). I have to say, Casino Royale is an excellent film though. Daniel Craig did play it well - however I still think Clive Owen would have been a better choice. Richard
  9. Looks like we agree on something else.........
  10. HAve to agree on the Goodyears  Avons are shite and I would not buy them EVER. I currently have Dunlop SP Sport 9000 on both my ZX and SLK. ON the ZX they are absolutely fine. Not quite as good as the Goodyears but they have lasted longer than 5 minutes so far, so all in all I'm pretty impressed/happy with them. The SLK doesn't seem quite so grippy though but I put that down to the car. The ZX is leagues ahead as a fast driver's car  Richard :)
  11. Yeah, the fuel!!! :wack: Although since moving house I only drive 24 miles a day round trip. I get £550 per month in lieu of a company car as I didn't want an Audi diesel and have to pay the company car tax for the privilege. I just keep the cash........ ...... and I bought myself a v-reg Merc SLK as a daily driver. Richard :)
  12. As a company car, I'd pick the Audi - go for the TDi. It has the lowest emissions of those you mention and VAG diesels are way better than Jap diesels. The 2.0 TDi is now 140bhp and they are pretty quick considering........ Lower emissions mean lower company car tax. My company car allocation is the Audi A4 TDi SE tiptronic but I chose the cash allowance instead. Richard :)
  13. You've all forgotten the obvious....... ........stick it in an existing grave in a cemetery  No-one would think of looking for a (missing person's) body in an existing grave ;) Richard
  14. I was with Chaucer at Carol Nash until recently - it always was around £250 but they wanted £375 this year. I thought that too expensive, especially as my SLK only costs £287 FC with Admiral. (I have it on a multi-car policy with the Rav-4) I switched to Heritage Insurance and got it back below £300 again......... .........with Chaucer!!!??? I didn't think of adding the ZX to my multi-car policy though as my NCB is used on the other cars. Richard :)
  15. Women always seem to put it there - fairly understandable. HOWEVER, if you give someone a lift PLEASE put it somewhere else. Every girl that has given me a lift still puts her bag in the passenger footwell, taking up my leg/foot space :smash: .....lights the touch paper and stands well back............. ;) Richard :)
  16. Most Japanese performance cars cost £££££s when they go wrong - even the 200sx. However Japanese cars are more reliable than most in the first place, even the 300zx despite some scary stories here ;) Like I've said, just fuel and rear tyres are the only major expense I've incurred running a 300zx. Then I kind of knew that before I bought it as you just expect a 3 litre twin turbo to drink more than a bunch of medical students during happy hour....... In fact whilst we have said the ZX can cost a fortune to fix, there are many experienced traders here that can help out and their costs are not actually that bad. Richard :)
  17. Exactly - the NIssan one os probably the best bet for the car and at the price (even from main dealers) you can't complain. I've also heard good reports on Blueprint parts too........ ;) Richard :)
  18. I'd agree with that too  Hey Mike, How's things with you - haven't seen you on here in a long while.... Richard :)
  19. Nice house there Mike! At £219k that's a bargain - I must move up north  That would be around £4-450k in my village. Go for it - realistically that house should appreciate quicker than investing the money you are splashing out, so you will gain in the long term. Just watch out for further interest rate rises mate. Richard :)
  20. I was just thinking that......... ".......Remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving. Revolving at 900 miles an hour...... ......that's orbiting at 90 miles a second, so it's reckoned, a Sun that's the source of all our power......" Richard
  21. Still 6 times his income though  I personally don't like the idea of a massive debt so mine is probably tiny by today's standards. It is nicely below twice my income and a fair bit under half the value of my house. I have an offset one and currently overpay some £200 per month in an effort to be rid of it in 10 years....... Richard ;)
  22. I'm good too, thanks Jay. ZX is going just fine as well. I don't use it as much as I should now, but I still try to give it a good blast once a week...... Richard :)
  23. Pics anyone?????
