  1. Thank you, brother....... Testified!! :nana2:
  2. I voted "yes" as I was a mullet-haired teenager in the 1980s........ :D But today I would personally go black and yellow like the pics posted above..... .....but it's your car and it could look good in a Miami Vice retro style ;) Richard
  3. I also blame the Health & Safety killjoys that are infecting our society now. Bunch of w@nkers IMO :nono: Ok I do appreciate that H&S is a serious subject and we do not want to cause unnecessary injury to (most ;) ) people but the over-zealous regulations, restrictions, risk assessments and paperwork have made the whole thing a complete joke. It turns already lazy people into complete jobsworths, as they just hide behind some H&S rule to avoid diong the job they are actually being paid for. My point, casting aside the litigious society we have inherited from the good old United Stated of Arseholes, is that humanity has survived tens of thousands of years so far, do we really need to wrap everone in cotton wool "in case they may get hurt?"..... ....plus if a few morons are stupid enough to injure themselves changing a light bulb then they deserve it! I call it natural selection - mother nature's way of killing off society's useless dead wood......... Richard

Wise words there mate! ;) Richard :D
  5. Yup! You can get a very ropey import TT for 6K (a bit like those ebay ZXs for 2K), or a fairly nice N/A Soop. Decent earlier imports are around the £8-9k mark, later cars and UK specs for 10K+ As the consensus above, I also think that if you can't get a Skyline GTR then don't bother. The GTS is slower and duller than a 300zx, no contest! You have a nice ZX there, I'd keep that........ Richard
  6. Or at least a couple of good pictures........... ;) Richard
  7. Mine also face forwards. As said above, either way is fine but forward facing slots will eat up the pads quicker, be a bit noisier but should offer more aggressive braking. Richard
  8. I have a UK auto TT, and with the filter change it takes just about 4 litres to show full on the dipstick. Once you've filled it, start the engine to check leaks etc then leave it 1/2 hour to re-check the level. It takes ages for all the oil to drain back into the sump and give a true reading. Richard
  9. Oh shite! The lunatics have finally taken over the asylum.............. ;) Abandon hope all ye who enter etc etc.... .......BTW, congratulations on your appointment, mate. Richard
  10. OK then - a car that is not stupidly out of reach...... Well if I was thinking of replacing it with another "classic 2 days a week driver" then probably a Porsche 928gt/gts or Lotus Esprit Turbo. If I sold the daily driver (SLK) as well then I had once considered a DB7, but almost £30k on a 10 year old car is not clever - especially with Aston reliability.......double especially as a daily driver :nono: I do like the 350Z but realistically, if I were to get rid of both cars then I'd probably buy a new shape SLK350...... Richard

Nooo, leave them on!! Cracking car though Si - the Esprit is the only Lotus I've ever liked....... .......and the V8 is available at a decent price nowadays too :nana2: Richard
  12. Still is British made...... .......but was owned by Ford from around 1987-ish. The V8 vantage (old one circa 1990-3) had switches etc from Granada Scorpio. DB7 also has switch gear and door locks from early 90's Fords too. Richard
  13. I agree! I just don't think that is the best colour for it - silver or gun-metal all the way...... Richard

Most cars depreciate though, but personally I can't see the NSX losing much over the next couple of years yet. They are rare exotica, plus we have not been deluged with thousands of imports yet, thus bringing down the price of good UK spec cars. Sure there are a few imports around but not enought to affect really prices. Plus whilst they have become more affordable, they are still out of reach for the "Chav market." Also some sports cars reach a set price level and stay there for a few years before dropping - Mk4 Supra for instance. They all still made high prices until very recently; also any decent Porsche 928 will still fetch the same price they did 2-3 years ago........ Richard
  15. Agreed - it looks a rough example to me. There are many more, much better looked after cars out there for decent prices. Have a look at the cars for sale section here first. Richard

I have to agree there :p Then the R33 is no oil painting either. The R34 is the best looking Skyline without a doubt but I'd still have the NSX over either one..... :nelson: Richard :D

Don't know really - reputation perhaps?? Then I did say "maybe" LOL!!! ;) Still doesn't change my mind though - NSX would be my choice no question as I wouldn't even consider the R33 GTR aginst one :p Richard
  18. Remember to buy the metalic paint version though - the regular stuff could make it worse...... Richard
  19. Welcome to the forum..... Anyway, to you question - at current prices it costs me around £65 to fill it to the brim, from when the light comes on. In normal driving - mixture of town, fast a-road and occasional hard overtaking I get around 220 miles until the light comes on again. On a long M-way run at around 90-100mph I have seen around 260 miles. (UK spec twin turbo auto) To put that into perspective, my SLK230 Kompressor costs around £45 to fill from empty and that gives me 275 miles normal driving and 320+ miles on the same m-way run..... My advice is if fuel and running costs are an issue then don't buy a 300zx. On the other hand if you don't care about the money and want to enjoy an excellent driver's car that doesn't fail to put a smile on your face then get one! ;) As for reliability - just buy wisely. I have had mine over 3 years now and for a while I was driving over 50 miles daily. It has never let me down...... Richard

I'd chose the NSX..... .....OK maybe an R33 GTR is a better driver's car but let's face it, they don't look anything special. So much so that I would not have an R33 GTR over a 300zx (but maybe I'm in the minority there...... ;) ) and before anyone mentions the cost, that is not an issue :nono: The NSX is more supercar - mid engined, fantastic looks and rareity etc etc :hyper: Richard
  21. But if you're running it in the heat of Jamaica, you'd better upgrade it mate! Richard  EDIT - sorry, it's just your name - I see you are from Canada....... ......I really must learn to read properly one day :p
  22. Looks like I may be right about the width....? Richard
  23. Unless your local Nissan parts dept is open AND carries them, then I'd say nowhere. You could try Jeff at Zedworld, though. He may be able to supply you today..... Richard
  24. So sorry to hear that. Deepest condolencies to his family  RIP mate Richard
  25. If they are the 17 inch rims from the stock car, then I'd say they are too narrow for the 300zx. I did think of putting them on my Mk3 Supra some years ago but I heard they were only 7 inches wide. Even stock J-spec ZX wheels are 7.5 inches so you really need to go wider. Richard
