merc SLK 55AMG
SL55 amg is forced induction, but the SLK55 amg is an N/A. It would still whup the ass off a 300zxtt though. The SLK350 is virtually on par with a 300zxtt performance wise. I borrowed one for a weekend and it is a pretty fine car. I would definately have one - nicer than a 350z IMO. The SL55 amg with forced induction will thrash even a pretty well modified 300zxtt. Richard ;)

denomination
I put all coins under £1 into a jar and bank the contents every 6 months or so. I hate having any coins TBH as too many leave (more :p ) bulges in my jeans pockets, for that reason I voted for £5 as the minimum denomination I care about. I still think we should bring back £1 notes, though (and hanging/stocks/national service etc etc) ;) I leave spare £1 coins in the cars' ashtrays to pay for parking etc..... Richard :D

Nissan's 350Z engine isn't a Renault sourced one.
Yup, I knew that as well....... :p Richard :D

Disable ABS?
I prostrate myself in front of the world's greatest brake expert then......

Switch For Rear Fogs
OK here's my suggestion...... ...UK cars have the rear fog switch where the J-spec front one is, but have a tell tale light on the dash pod. You could wire that in for your rear fog. I have a UK spec car, but have fitted front fogs. I have fitted a rocker switch on top of the r/h pod for my front fogs; It looks OK but I am thinking of a better looking solution. I came up with the idea of getting the r/h pod from a LHD car and rigging up the hazard light switch from that to my front fogs. That would give a "balanced" effect on both pods. All I'd need to do is paint over the "hazard" symbol........ Still haven't done it after 3 years now, though :slap: Richard :D

snapped locking wheel nut tol help!!!!
I'd put stock wheel nuts back on until you can obtain a new locking nut kit. I'm sure a few members have some spare ones lying around - I may have some originals in my garage from when I put new alloys on 3 years ago. TBH trying to get replacement parts for what you have now is not worth it - better buy a whole new set of locking nuts and "key" Richard

UK stock alloys
Stick with this on stock rims and tyres and you won't go wrong. Richard

Disable ABS?
Same here Vin! Although I have now fitted 3G slotted front discs, they are stock size though.... Richard ;)

Disable ABS?
Testified!! ABS is an essential safety feature and ALL cars should have it, PERIOD. The moment when the brakes are at their most efficient is just before they lock up. Any advanced driving instructor worth his salt will tell you that - which is why "cadence braking" was encouraged in older non-ABS cars. ABS systems do the job far better and safer than any person could, by releasing the pressure just before lock-up and re-applying it instantly, many times a second. OK so ABS doesn't stop you on loose gravel or snow but at least you can retain control of the steering. Try braking hard from say 130mph on a damp surface in a straight line without it and see how far you get. Richard :nono:

"Approved vehicle repairers"??
Hi MAte, Me is AKA MJP Auto in the traders section. He can supply genuine Nissan parts cheaper than Nissan ever will. Great service from him too - thoroughly recommended  Good luck, Richard :)

Nope!

Driving blind
Keep the inside of your screen clean then......... :slap: ....seriously though, I find it less of a problem in the ZX than my other cars as the tint seems to be deeper (stock UK car). Richard

Monkey's at Kwick Fit, major stress...
As long as they use a decent oil and filter then it should be OK. I have used ATS for an oil change before - they used Shell Helix Ultra and a Nissan filter but I stayed with the car and watched them every second!! But at £34 all in that's cheaper than I could have got 4 litres of the stuff from a Shell garage  I thought it worth a go as I normally buy the oil and filter then get my local garage to do it..... Richard ;)

FAO MaaaaarkZX (photo heavy!)
I'm not normaly a fan of flip paint either, but that looks absolutely amazing  Much better on a stock ZX too IMO.......... Richard

Is this anyone's on here????
I just agree with Si that it looks poo :slap: Sorry but i's just my opinion - the 300zx is a timeless classic that should not be defaced with ironing boards or "graffix" However it may not be the current owner's fault - a few are coming in from Japan like that now........... :hurl: Richard ;)

whose drinking and eating what tonight.......
Julia and I have just got back from our local pub..... ......had a seafood pie (cod, king prawns and scallops in lobster sauce) with salad and saute potatos, washed down with a couple of pints of Breakspear. Followed that with cheese and biscuits and a glass or 2 of vintage port  Richard :)

"Approved vehicle repairers"??
You have the legal choice of where your car goes for repairs. I had a similar situation 2 years ago. I needed a new front bumper, front wing and headlight. (Not to mention the fitting, spraying etc etc....) The engineer valued the car at a decent price but said owing to the cost of parts the "authorised repairer" obtained the car was bordering on a write-off. I spoke to the manager of said garage and he confirmed he had asked Nissan for parts prices. I gave him Mike Feeney's number and suggested he obtain new parts from him instead (also gave me the chance to get a '99 spec front  ). This brought the price right down, they gave me a courtesy car and finished the repairs. I wasn't happy with the car when I first got it back, as I thought the bumper didn't sit straight. However they took it back and put i right, I only accepted the car once I was happy with it ad they didn't mind me being so picky. Richard :)

Alarm/Imobilisor crisis!
Try ringing the previous owner and asking for the pin number? Otherwise use yellow pages and find your nearest mobile car alarm specialist, who happens to deal in Sigma alarms. I believe the company that makes Sigma is called something like "Secure Micro Systems." Try a 'net search on that instead. HTH Richard :)

19" Wheels
I agree with Chunk there  Richard :)

do uk cars run more boost?
J-spec boost is measured in mg of Hg I believe. The actual boost pressure is the same on both cars - around 9psi. Richard :)

Thnakyou Mr Arsonist.
I agree, this is totally wrong. Unless the road is an accident blackspot then it's all about revenue, not road safety. If it were road safety, then they should just have put the 50mph limit in and let people get used to it before adding scameras  I for one am sick of the anti-motoring epidemic that is running rife in our town halls at present. Anyone noticed how the 30/40 limits in villages has been extended miles outside the residential areas lately? OK that may be to slow people down coming into the village. However whilst driving in Italy a couple of years back, I noticed the restirction was only on 1 side of the road - coming into a residential area the lower limit was in place a KM before, yet leaving it, the restriction was lifted earlier allowing you to accelerate away but it was still in place on the opposite carriageway. Also a load of rural roads near me have had national speed limit cut to 50 or even 40. These roads are nearly always empty any time of day, I've not heard there has been loads of accidents so why???? .......Just to encourage more horse riders or cyclists to use the roads!!! I still use the same roads every day and I still am yet to see either  Fekking mental PC thinking, that's what. Why the feck do we pay road tax??? Oh and if cyclists and horses use the public roads then they too should be forced by law to have 3rd party insurance....... Rant over Richard :headvswal

jacking by the sill
Never jack it under the sill! I always watch the car when it goes in for tyres to make sure the fitter-monkey doesn't do that. Richard :)

gingers car back on sale
Exactly! Those graphics and the 2-tone effect really do not go; especially with the interior colour scheme :nelson: But each to their own...... Richard
