sexy coleague
How about asking her "Do you have a mirror in your pocket because I can see myself in your pants!!" Or you could just ask "Do you have an interview today, you're looking better/smarter/etc than usual" Richard

how reliable are these cars?
Wise words there.... Essentially the car itself is reliable - it is a Nissan afterall  But age, bad maintenance and extreme modifications without upgrading essentials take their toll. I have no problems in almost 4 years with my UK spec TT auto, it has covered over 85k miles now and the left turbo oil seal is starting to go bad. (since I fitted a less restrictive exhaust the symptoms have become a little aparent). It still runs perfectly and doesn't consume oil or water so I have no complaints. Richard :)

1989 SWB rebuild... love it or leave it??
My advice - don't bother buying your mates one and waste the money bringing it up to standard. At the end of the day it is a 17 year old car that will have cost you £000's yet still not be worth the money you ploughed into it. Buy a good one in the first place - yes finding the right one will be hard but it will cost you less in the long run. Richard

Any advance
Very expensive for TPFT :x: When I used to insure mine as a daily driver I got it for around the £400-£450 mark with both Bell Direct & Lifesure fully comp. That was with protected full NBC and at 33 years old. I now insure it as a classic with Carole Nash for £265 fully comp. Richard :)

300zx - Help wanted!!!
All Uk cars are 2+2, targa twin turbos, as Sanchez said above. And if you're thinking of ignoring your insurance company's errors/ommissions to keep your premium low, DON'T! :smash: Make sure they know EVERYTHING and have the right car covered, whether it's an old Z31 or an import etc. Declare ALL modifications too. Failure to do so will invalidate your cover in the event of a claim. OK you may only lose a £3000 car but if you hit a 3d party and it's your fault you will be in the shit. At best you would face prosecution for being uninsured and maybe get sued by the 3rd party. At worst, don't bend over for the soap....... Richard :)

Legal advice required
Not so sure that applies in this instance. If you hit another car then the private land rule could apply, leaving it a civil dispute between you and the other driver. However I belive there may be a clause for supermarket car parks etc something along the lines of "Where a road is on private land but it is in regular use by the public without exception then the laws within the Road Traffic Act can still be applied" I think it was to give the police rights to nick cruisers and drink drivers etc even they are not technically on the road. However the car was damaged by the the humps Asda placed in the car park. Whilst such places often display signs saying "cars are parked at owners' risk" this only covers damage or theft perpetrated by a third party whilst parked. You were'nt parked when the damage occurred; plus if Asda invite you to enter their property by providing access to parking bays then they have a duty of care to ensure they do not directly cause damage or injury to their customers. That is why they have public liability insurance - it would be a similar thing if you tripped over a loose kerb in the car park and sued for personal injury; private land or not. If said speed hump was so high that it was the direct cause of the damage to your car, then they have not taken sufficient care to prevent damage to your property. Go back and take pictures for evidence; although you may have to prove you were driving with due care so as not to have caused the damage yourself. Don't let the fekkers fob you off. Richard :)

NZR - Home air coolers
Why bother when Homebase are selling air conditioners from £150 at the moment? Go for the real deal at that price. I remember having one at my old office, it worked OK providing the ambient temp was below 30 deg. Also t got through a surprisingly large amount of water and when it ran empty just blew out air hotter than it took in. Richard :)

Which brake pads?
Also the Stillen metal matrix pads Mike Feeney sells are pretty damn good. Reasonably priced, not too much dust and they stop way better than the Mintex ones I had before  Richard :)

Bodywork? Maybe a change?
Yeah, I can't stand being clean shaven  Anyway Si, back to your car. I do like the 99 spec rear spoiler and I think it would look mighty fine on your ZX. Although the smooth look does suit the pearl white better than most other colours............. That was no help really, was it? Richard

Skyline 4door
Welcome to our forum BTW..... Incidentally "TXT SPK" is not that common on here down to 2 main reasons. Firstly a lot of us are in our 30s and find it hard to read when not viewed on a mobile phone; Secondly we all rip the living piss out of anyone who dares to use it  As for other 'net forums, I wouldn't know as I don't visit enough of them to pass judgement. Richard :wack:

Love island
Sigh  More crap on TV, just like Big Brother, I'm a celebrity etc etc. No wonder I don't watch the thing anymore. Plus the greedy b@stards at the BBC want over £130 for a licence this year. Bunch of :xxx: Richard

What's happened to Virgin Radio???
As above - is it me or has it got crap recently? I used to like Virgin Radio - Pete & Geoff in the mornings was entertaining, plus they played decent music. Now they have that complete twat Christian O'Connell - a cheap more arse-ish version of Johnny Vaughan :xxx: And don't get me started on the fekking music  I mean Virgin was always a good bet for some decent rock music but they seem to have gone more mainstream of late. I have the radio on at work and today, for instance, they played that Fekking awful "Smile" by some tallentless bint called Lilly Allen 5 TIMES.... Just because it may be number 1 it doesn't mean it is worth playing. SHE CANNOT SING AND THE SONG IS ABSOLUTE FEKKING DRIVEL. I HATE IT!!!!!! That shite should be left to Radio 1, Capital and (more recently) Heart FFS. Virgin always used to be about real music, now they seem intent on attracting a wider audience at the expense of their loyal followers. Thank f~ck I have a DAB radio at work and could switch over to Planet Rock  Awesome! It seems there are no longer any decent music stations on FM radio any more :( Rant over Richard

Standard Bumpers
99 spec front doesn't have that vent, yet overheating isn't an issue with that...... ....than again the bottom grill is bigger in the 99 spec :wack: Richard

Whole load of 99 Jspec pics!!!

mr2 Turbo quicker than a 300zx TT????
0-60 in both cars is virtually the same - around 5.5 seconds. The stock MR2 turbo is not sufficiently quick enough to pull out any real advantage up to this speed and TBH it would be down to driver ability. However rolling starts the ZX will have it beaten down to better BHP and torque. ZX will be better 0-100 though. And as stated above, once above 80mph or so then the ZX will show the MR2 a clean set of tail pipes. Richard :)

Baby seats for a 2+2 TT zed
Only series 1 imports though. All UK cars and series 2 imports have front belts attached to the pillar like most other cars. Richard

Stuck on M6 Amb temp went 60Deg!
I think I'd agree with this too, having a relatively stock 300zx. OK, many have said the OEM water temp guage is crap but I find it hard to believe any manufacturer, let alone a Japanese one with a reputation for reliability, would install one that worked so badly. Here's a theory...... From memory (and someone jump in if I've missed it) but nowhere in the hand book does it state what the operating temperature of the coolant should be. It just shows a range on the temp guage. Now we all know aftermarket guages are super sensitive (not necessarily more accurate), hence the significant needle movement when coolant temp increases by a degree or 2. So if the engine coolant is still within Nissan's original recommended operating range then it stands to reason the OEM guage will not fluctuate by much, right? So an aftermarket guage may show the exact coolant temp in degrees but unless you have a very highly modded engine is it really necessary - I think the slight increased running temps are normal for hot weather conditions and the extra guage makes many owners panic a little. Afterall if the engine was severly overheating then I think it would be noticable - performance would be down (detting?) etc. Plus the addition of antifreeze plus the high coolant pressure ensure the boiling point of the coolant is well above 100 degrees C anyway. Like I said, my Merc SLK temp guage reads in degrees C, with the red line being the one above 120 degrees. I regularly see 100 degrees in very hot weather and the car behaves just fine. Being supercharged it is not an "ordinary" car either, although not the performance machine my 300ZX is. Richard :)
