  1. Disagree with "No Z is worth that amount of money". Mine is valued at more, as would Simons, joels and a few others. If high spec GTST's are knocking in that sort of money, there is ZERO reason why Z's shouldn't. I will happily concede that car isn't worth that money. It's just not tidy enough nor do the exterior modifications help its cause
  2. ^^^^ This. If the Ecu isn't mapped for 555's, don't even think about starting it until you have a 555 base map
  3. Yes, you can put an elastomer compound into the powder that gives it a degree of flex without breaking. Done it to a fair few motorbike springs with no long term issues
  4. Mine are the same. I'll be powder coating mine rather than painting them........ Or a I may be changing to KW version 3's
  5. How well is it idling at the moment? If idles fine, I highly highly doubt it's a popped hose. Last time I popped off and intercooler hose clean off, the car wouldn't idle at all. Sorry to say it, but this sounds like a turbo failure to me
  6. Turkish Military Says It Has Taken Over Country http://news.sky.com/story/turkish-military-says-it-has-taken-over-country-10503039
  7. It's all going off in turkey! Worlds gone mad
  8. Lucky! It's a condition of my agreed value policy that it needs a Cat 1 on it
  9. If I had my way, the car wouldn't have an alarm system, but insurance dictates otherwise. I was sensible enough to clean every connector and earth point whilst the engine was out and I was wiring up the additional sensors for my Haltech setup. However the car has been off the road for coming up to 3 years and infrequent charging has no doubt contributed to the death of this battery.
  10. In 275/35/18 you could have Hankook Ventus s1 £256.60 Toyo T1S £240.80 Falken FK453 £222.80 All on http://www.camskill.co.uk/m61b0s333p0/Car_Tyres_-_MPV_Tyres_-_People_Carrier_Tyres_-_18_inch_R18_inch_-_275_35_18_275_35R18 But if you have Hankooks up front, I'd personally go for the matching set - - - Updated - - - Doh my maths failed me there, Hankooks would be £251.60
  11. What you looking to spend buddy?
  12. If you want to stick with Falkens the 453 replaced the 452. Eagle assym 2's seem to be a good price at the moment as the assym 3 came out a little while back. Personally hate Pirelli's. Had P zero rosso's on my first Z and they were aweful in the wet. If you can stil find Bridgestone S02's then snap them up, amazing tyre, by far the best I've had.... Sadly they don't make them any more'and the replacements were just sooooo soft it wasn't worth buying them
  13. Well my Bosch 068 has died after about 3 and a half years (and the previous Bosch only lasted 3) So I'm curious, for those of you that use their z's as a infrequent play thing, what batteries do you prefer Cheers
  14. Also looking a bit hit and miss for me. I'm still waiting on my brake brackets and for it to go into a paint shop, thrown in with the possibility of buying a new house has kinda thrown the Z to the back of the queue. Will still try and get things sorted, but a bit 50/50 at the moment
  15. Crikey, long time! You still Fleet way?
  16. If your on 555's they must be running at 90% duty! Get some 740's in sharpish
  17. I know he's no longer working on Z's and hasn't done for a while now
  18. Somehow I have managed to misplace the undertrays the go underneath the intercoolers/leading edge of front wheel arches. I'm after a matching set in good condition (no cracks etc) There is a set on the bay but the seller has repeatedly failed to send me decent quality pictures (ones displayed as horrendously pixelated) Cash waiting Cheers
  19. That's a good point Andrew. I recently came across something that one of the guys in the US has used on his car to ensure subframe alignment stays true. Made by Spoon Racing and available for the 300zx
  20. If your comparing sides of the car, it's relative. If you have a difference with wheels off and suspension is unloaded, that difference will still be there when it's sitting on the ground, and in theory, viva versa.
  21. Take the wheel off and measure from the hub nut to the sill on both sides, that'll give you a definitive answer. If it is off, as you've said, castor will be out
  22. If the battery light is staying on, you need to investigate that issue before moving on. Is the belt in good condition, correctly tensioned and not slipping? What voltage do you read at the battery with the engine running? Is the alternator wiring correctly installed and seated fully?
  23. I'm with sky insurance at the moment, £312 a year, 5000 mile limitation, £15K agreed value all mods declared
