  1. Pop off the boost hoses that feed the throttle bodies, ensure the butterflys are fully shut. Take the TPS off and rotate the hole that the spindle sits in fully clockwise. Use a multimeter and check the continuity of the Hard Idle switch (middle and bottom pin). This switch reverts control of the idle to the idle control valve. If you have continuity then reinstall the TPS. You then need to set it to between 0.40 Volts and 0.50 volts WHILE ensuring the hard idle switch is engaged. Have a read of this for further on the TPS https://z32.wikispaces.com/Throttle+Position+Sensor
  2. Well if all goes well with the insurance, I'd deffo be investigating that before putting her back on the road, it'd be a huge kick in the nuts for its to be repaired only for it to go pop on its maiden flight (see what I did there!)
  3. Glad to see a new thread up so soon! What are your thoughts around the sudden loss of oil pressure?
  4. Truly gutted for you fella. As Joely said, I dread this sort of thing happening to my z! I truly hope you had an agreed value insurance policy with all the work you put in to your car. I wish I could provide some inspirational words for you, but I just can't summon them at the moment
  5. As some of you know, I'm rebuilding my z after it popped during A vmax200 event a few years ago. Just thought I'd share a pic of some new toys that turned up today Should help keep all those ponies in check
  6. Danny, look up AMMO NYC on YouTube. Larry does some great educational vids about methods, techniques and products. Some really good stuff on there which will help you keep your new paint looking amazing
  7. From memory Evo rears are far from a straight fit, however sti rear brembos are virtually a straight bolt on, but they cost a premium
  8. Would also love to know who did your paintwork
  9. Top job fella. Is that the cls-r spoiler?
  10. This is what I'm talking about
  11. Hey guys Well I've finally got my engine internals back from the machine shop. Obviously, prior to assembling the bottom end I need to give anything a thorough clean. However I've come across a bit of a head scratcher. Between some of the journals there is a oil channel that runs diagonally through the crank between the main and big end journals. These are capped at one end of the oil way with what appears to be a freeze plug. You can see these oilways run at 90 degrees to the journal when you look through the oil way in each journal. So it basically carries oil from big end to main to big end through the crankshaft itself. I'm not sure on how exactly I'm going to clean these oilways thoroughly without drilling out the freeze plugs. Unfortunately Google isn't providing any suggestions at the moment, although I'll keep searching.
  12. Have you plugged your fuel pump ecu back in?
  13. How on earth did a fairly stock looking GTO win?!?!? Sorry I couldn't make it guys, had family to see for my little girls birthday. Deffo on the list for next year!
  14. Compression test and hope for the best
  15. Does anyone know what admittance fee is for non jap car attendees?
  16. Do a proper boost leak test mate. If it doesn't hold pressure, then you know you have a leak
  17. Focus on one thing at a time mate. By all accounts you've identified a possible leak. Rectify that then move onto any other faults that are present. Trying to identify the true cause of the issue while trying to rectify several potential causes at once will just leave you chasing your tail
  18. So yeah it will be louder without them, but to be honest I'm not exactly convinced by a completely unsilenced system, verges on "farty" for me
  19. No they're not cats bud. It's a Kakimito H pipe that I carried over from the Kakimito system I used to have
  20. Jim I run a full 3 inch system with a resonated H pipe and no back boxes. Give 97db at 5500rpm, so passes most track day noise limits Bimble Full throttle
  21. Gutted to say I'm not going to be able to make this. Car isn't coming together at the speed I'd hoped for and there just not enough hours available for me to even be close to getting it on the road for this event.
