  1. Danny, look up AMMO NYC on YouTube. Larry does some great educational vids about methods, techniques and products. Some really good stuff on there which will help you keep your new paint looking amazing
  2. From memory Evo rears are far from a straight fit, however sti rear brembos are virtually a straight bolt on, but they cost a premium
  3. Would also love to know who did your paintwork
  4. Top job fella. Is that the cls-r spoiler?
  5. This is what I'm talking about
  6. Hey guys Well I've finally got my engine internals back from the machine shop. Obviously, prior to assembling the bottom end I need to give anything a thorough clean. However I've come across a bit of a head scratcher. Between some of the journals there is a oil channel that runs diagonally through the crank between the main and big end journals. These are capped at one end of the oil way with what appears to be a freeze plug. You can see these oilways run at 90 degrees to the journal when you look through the oil way in each journal. So it basically carries oil from big end to main to big end through the crankshaft itself. I'm not sure on how exactly I'm going to clean these oilways thoroughly without drilling out the freeze plugs. Unfortunately Google isn't providing any suggestions at the moment, although I'll keep searching.
  7. Have you plugged your fuel pump ecu back in?
  8. How on earth did a fairly stock looking GTO win?!?!? Sorry I couldn't make it guys, had family to see for my little girls birthday. Deffo on the list for next year!
  9. Compression test and hope for the best
  10. Does anyone know what admittance fee is for non jap car attendees?
  11. Do a proper boost leak test mate. If it doesn't hold pressure, then you know you have a leak
  12. Focus on one thing at a time mate. By all accounts you've identified a possible leak. Rectify that then move onto any other faults that are present. Trying to identify the true cause of the issue while trying to rectify several potential causes at once will just leave you chasing your tail
  13. So yeah it will be louder without them, but to be honest I'm not exactly convinced by a completely unsilenced system, verges on "farty" for me
  14. No they're not cats bud. It's a Kakimito H pipe that I carried over from the Kakimito system I used to have
  15. Jim I run a full 3 inch system with a resonated H pipe and no back boxes. Give 97db at 5500rpm, so passes most track day noise limits Bimble Full throttle
  16. Gutted to say I'm not going to be able to make this. Car isn't coming together at the speed I'd hoped for and there just not enough hours available for me to even be close to getting it on the road for this event.
  17. You sure the systems correctly bled and the pedal is properly adjusted?
  18. Use this http://carboncollective.eu/shop/?product=platinum-wheels-coating You won't want to re polish your lips for 2 years! It's by far the best detailing product I've ever used. Haven't used a wheel cleaner for years now, just soapy water
  19. So I've heard from the Z guru himself, Greg Dupree @ SZ... "Hi Nick, In short the .5mm oversize work the best with a 88mm bore size. The larger valves allow more air to move, this increases the whole powerband and allows the turbo to spool quicker. Going to a full mm oversize causes flow issues with a 88mm bore as the combustion chamber cannot be opened enough to get the addition flow around the outside of the valve without further increasing the bore. Cheers Greg" There we have it. If your running 88's, 0.5mm oversize valves is the way to go!
  20. They're doing all my machining work: Rebore to 88mm Diamond plateau honing Decking block Dynamically balancing entire bottom end Clean and deburring oil galleys and waterways Head skim Disassemble and inspection of valve train New guides Cnc valve seats Clean and deburring of oil and waterways Reassembly of valve train with new valves
  21. http://www.rolandalsop.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=24&Itemid=28 If you want some bed time reading, read up on the Newer Bb contour cnc valve seat machine, the results are effin impressive to say the least
  22. Yeah I'll post it up here for future reference for other people considering changing their valve sizes
  23. Well I've just pinged an email to Greg Dupree to find out his opinion. It goes without saying that it is specific to my engine spec (currently 575 at the fly for those who don't know) but I think the answer will be relevant to those of us running the smaller end of the updated turbo spectrum with the vast majority of the breather mods fitted (piping, intercoolers etc)
