Posted November 19, 20168 yr So, I bought some replacement antera 309'd and found I balls'd up xos I didn't check the offsets... They were stated in the advert so completely my fault. So, the front have an offset of 50... FFS!!! off a Honda S2000. Anyway, tried to fit and of course, won't go over the brakes. I have 20mm hubcentric spacers so tried with them but still won't fit due to the wheel bolts hitting the mounting plates. Any ideas? I'm thinking, could a shop drill where the bolts are touching or just get some normal spacers 5 or 10 mm) and use them too? November 19, 20168 yr Author Fit 25mm spacers as I did to mine Lee. That was my thought. But then I'm thinking, maybe just one of those 5mm ones would fix the issue rather than having the expense of 25mm hubcentric ones - - - Updated - - - What widths are they Lee? 8 inch mate The rear is 10 inch and A 56+ offset - - - Updated - - - Looks like you just need to shorten the hub studs I thought that and was debating on chopping them down but then thought, it's best not Edited November 19, 20168 yr by bird Membership No 0780 INSURANCE GOOFA Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:
November 19, 20168 yr 8" ET 56? You need 35mm spacers for sure. Is that ET 56 front and rear? That's a really week offset and a narrow wheel. Edited November 19, 20168 yr by Funkysi
November 19, 20168 yr I know it's not what you want to hear but sometimes it's best selling on and buying specific sizes and offsets mate. It shouldn't need a 20mm spacer to clear these 4 pots. A 5/10 one will do not then because of the difference how are they gonna look against the arches?

November 19, 20168 yr Yeah I hear you, I've tried to make my car got a wheel in the past so now I try and get the correct specs mate, it saves loads of ballache but if it's the wheel you've been looking at for a while I understand your frustration. As said though the offset is weak so irrelevant of caliper clearance you might want to think about it's flushness and work from there tbh mate.

The current wheels were fine. Same type and size but don't know the offset sadly Membership No 0780 INSURANCE GOOFA Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

November 19, 20168 yr You need a 27mm spacer to successfully cover the studs in the car's hub, mate. Alternatively, just take a spacer and the wheels to a machine shop and have them drill 5mm - 10mm recesses in the mounting face of the alloy (using the spacer as a template). That then allows the excess on the ends of the hub studs to not foul on the mounting face. :thumbup1:
November 19, 20168 yr Author Thing is, I want the wheel to sit right in the arch's so a spacer is probably the best bet, just need to know the best size Membership No 0780 INSURANCE GOOFA Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:

November 19, 20168 yr Depends on the look you want Lee, how flush do you want it? I'm not pushing any boundaries with my setup but I don't get any fouling or rubbing and I'm relatively low (19x8.5 et22 225/35-19): With your 18x8 et50, to match the above "flushness" you'll need a 34mm spacer! You also need to take into consideration what tyre you're planning to use as it will affect the space you have to play with.
November 19, 20168 yr It will also depend on your rear fitment as you would want to "match" as best you can. For reference, my rears are 19x9.5 et25 255/30-19.

As for the rears, they currently sit pretty perfect., although I have new wheels, they're the same as the old olds. Might be worth me trying to measure the offset of the corrent/old wheels as they don't actually say Membership No 0780 INSURANCE GOOFA Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:
November 20, 20168 yr Author Just been and measured up. So, there 12-13 mm difference between the original and new wheels. Half an inch basically Membership No 0780 INSURANCE GOOFA Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:
November 20, 20168 yr Author Anyone know where to get some of these big ass wheel spacers? I used a guy called martin in the past (mwtech) but he doesn't seem to be around anywhere ese days and I know he was very sick the last time I spoke to him. Not sure if this kind of thing can be custom made easily enough Membership No 0780 INSURANCE GOOFA Datascan, Conzult, ECUTalk and a few others I have all the rare bits you can't find :tongue:
