  1. To be sure of the windscreen tint just check the other windows.
  2. Very basic design, here is a photo:
  3. ...and here is a "how to": http://www.thumper300zx.com/z32/boostleaks/boost_leak_guide.htm
  4. Well I would say that ~£30 was a reasonable price to pay for a CNC'd part and bolts and P&P. Well done for having a go.
  5. Is that a CNC'd part?
  6. I'm after a pair of inner door mirror covers for a project. Fixing clips need to be intact. Anyone got a pair they could let me have?
  7. This thread covers Brembo bleeding process (and calipers with inner/outer bleed nipples): http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?170794-brake-bleed&highlight=brembo The ABS on our cars is F&R (front indepently controlled, rears together). Also, your new blue brake line does not appear to have the fixings to stop it moving about. Please don't take you car for a test drive until you have fully bled the brakes.
  8. Those wanting one of these might want to check with AndyZ (http://www.supercarparts.co.uk) or another breaker. I got mine from Andy. He had a number of bonnets with the blankets still attached. I just picked the one that was in perfect condition. Of course, his stock may have changed since then. Also, you will need the bonnet attachment clips (I ordered from MJP) as you may find it difficult to remove the existing ones without damaging them.
  9. Have you had a look on TT.net? google -> leader gears noise site:http://www.twinturbo.net One thing that comes up is noise with solid/hard bushings: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2269441/410-Leadergears-feedback-re-gear-whine-I-am.html Also correct setup for pinion depth, pinion bearing preload, backlash and carrier bearing preload: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2281467/Differential-gear-noise-semi--dissertation.html Not the same company, however the setup principles will remain the same: http://www.differentials.com/technical-help/installation-instructions Hope this helps. Edit: this is the installation quide by Richmond (they make the Z32 gears for Leader): http://www.richmondgear.com/pdf/ringandpinion.pdf
  10. Has the other side come undone? I would use Plus Gas as it is a proper release agent whereas WD-40 is a water displacement/anti corrosion agent.
  11. Remove the spring clip (arrowed), then spanner on flexible pipe union and brake pipe spanner on hardline union. Same for other end of line.
  12. This should help you out: http://www.ttzd.com/tech/linestech.html
  13. Check condition of bodywork for rust and/or poor repairs. Sills, in particular the sill area (inner and outer) in front of the rear wheels. Wheel arches. Signs of body filler or patching and/or recent resprays to hide poorly repaired rust damage. UK cars are protected to the same degree as imports by the factory for corrosion resistance but generally have had the most exposure to salting in the winter. We have a number of Zeds on here that were bought cheap and have been found to require extensive repairs due to rust damage and have then been beyond the capabilities and/or funds to repair, so have been scrapped and broken up. Would be wise to check before spending money on servicing jobs. Having said that it would be great to see another UK spec car saved.
  14. Welcome! The more UK Zeds the better, so pictures and more details please. Here to help.
  15. A similar situation (small claims track advice): http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/askhj/answer/23781/insurance-claim
  16. Danny, before I fitted the GHK there was very noticeable GH with the Selin dual maf setup (there was no Pssst noise that I could hear) With the GHK fitted, the Pssst noise became quite noticeable. The stonger springs in the GHK make the recircs operate under higher vacuum conditions than before, but it still operates as a recirc to divert excess pressure and stop the turbine stalling. Reading through the information on the BDE site on recircs and how the GHK works, I took the pssst to be happening because the recirc was opening later and therefore dumping compressed air more aggressively. Of course I could be wrong, here are the links: http://bde-performance.com/goose.htm (what the stiffer GHK springs do) and http://bde-performance.com/goose_how.htm (how recircs work)
  17. Tom, it seems to me that "surge" and "stall" are interchanged. It would be interesting to know what your technicians would call the phenomena with the Z32 throttle closed from WOT and the turbine slowing down rapidly as a result (if there were no recircs/bovs). What happens with a Gnome engine during shutdown - does the compressor continue to run and therefore require venting? Here is a Greddy/Pentroof setup with an external wastegate, in this case the wastegate exhaust has been redirected back into the main exhaust (for noise reasons). Otherwise, the wastegate would vent to atmosphere with the "screamer" sound. Some of you may recognise the engine.
  18. I would have thought that paint found in the door jams and on the body under the rear hatch is most likely to be representative of the orginal Nissan 326 colour. It should have had the least exposure to the elements. I know that when I had the rear bumper and spoiler painted the sprayer explained that although the colour was TK3, he had correction codes to allow for age and weathering.
  19. With the GHK fitted, compressed air being suddenly released back into the inlet track. Compressor surge = uncontrollable turbine overrun. Example video: [video=youtube_share;nCj6Spwl1CU] Compressor stall = back pressure through compressor turbine when throttle is closed from WOT. The stock recircs are primarily there to prevent compressor stall and so improve drivability: http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/FAQ/FAQpages/bov.html By the way read "stall" for "surge" in the FAQ!
  20. So you have just lost the connection back into the inlet track downwind of the MAF with your custom piping? That position in the photo is also the location for the stock recircs.
  21. How is does the wastegate noise on the exhaust side get into the inlet side?
  22. So where are your BOVs located in your custom piping?
  23. Try this one: [video=youtube_share;ffq2oaEZnUo]

  25. I know how they "come on". Your wording of "The dipped beam is of the projector type - so it looks like it "could" be OEM" read oddly to me.
