  1. Nissan added additional coolers for Euro spec cars after high speed testing on German autobahns. In the case of the PS system the mechanical pump is designed to provide full flow at, or very close to, engine idle speed (needed for example with low engine revs and parking). As engine revs increase and are maintained (high speed driving) more and more fluid is being pumped around the (open spool) system. As such, the oil heats rapidly, and can without additional cooling overheat and cavitate resulting in PS performance degredation and/or failure. Granted that for most everyday driving the cooler is probably unnecessary, but Nissan would have been conservative for their specifications for the European market. If you track/race your car adequate PS cooling is something to bare in mind.

  5. They are all set up for RHD by the factory, those that have bought them in the US have either ignored the fact or adpated the cut off shield to get the correct pattern for LHD. This involves opening up the $2K headlight assembly.
  6. What he says ^^^. How many miles have you put on those new brakes?
  7. If the pads themselves are not true then you will get this.

  13. Oh series 2 UK spec car! Certainly worth an inspection. It is a 20 year old car, so there are bound to be some things that need addressing. Mats are original UK supplied (they are in the brochure I have). My car was first owned by Nissan UK, so it is nice to see another one come up for sale.
  14. not forgetting driving style...
  15. What he says ^^^, also OEM radiators have plastic endcaps and pipe fittings. The inlet/outlet pipe fittings in particular are prone to cracking from rough handling and over tightning the hose fittings.
