  1. With the XP support cutoff approaching and the system drive on my desktop giving up today with terminal h/w failures I will make the switch to W7 64bit (I'm not interested in W8). Fortunately I have an XP laptop to get onto the Internet with. I need to be able to run lagacy XP apps (Word, Excel etc) so I am looking at the W7 Pro with 32bit support. Where can I get genuine MS copies of W7 64bit for the lowest cost? I will need two copies. I'm happy to pay, but would like try and avoid the sort of prices I'm seeing advertised if that is possible. The system itself is based on a Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 Rev 1.0 motherboard and Intel E6600 overclocked to 3GHz. I've checked that it will support W7 64bit with updated Gigabyte drivers which I can download. It has 4Gb of RAM. There are two additional data drives (all SATA). I'm not interested in RAID. Is there anything that springs to mind in making this move which will help me in making as painless as possible? Many thanks!
  2. Now that would be worth seeing!

  5. This might be an alternative solution? http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?175341-Breaking-my-z&p=1804982&viewfull=1#post1804982
  6. Hubert, from the "300ZX Enthusiast's Companion" book the weight distribution for a 2+2 turbo manual is 53:47 F/R with a kerb weight of 3,495lb. Your figures are 1600kg which is 3,527lb, so not that different.
  7. Great to read that you have regained your passion for the Z32. Look forward to seeing it in the metal, in the meantime got any photos of her to share? There are national and local Club meets organised throughout the year. Here is an event not that far from you in August, it's great fun and lovely location to meet up. Hope to see you there! http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?174691-quot-Simply-Japanese-quot-Beaulieu-Motor-Museum-Joint-southern-area-meet

  9. Thank you all for your kind birthday wishes, much appreciated!
  10. There are literally thousands of these emails doing the rounds, just hit the delete key!
  11. Which parts on the diagram?
  12. The electrician will find the Fuse Block diagram useful. I've attached that for you and annotated the M12 connection which goes to the power seat. To get at the Fuse Block the drivers kick panel near the door will need to be removed. Fuse Block.pdf
  13. Are your power windows still working? There is a circuit breaker on the Fuse Block by the drivers kick panel which may have failed and is shared with the power seats and power window. When you said you checked " there's voltage to the main wire and switches when plugged in" were did you measure that (refer to the BF-34 diagram I posted above)? Have you checked the continuity to earth (car chassis) at the seat connector M83? When the seats suddenly stopped working, had you been doing any work on the car which may have disturbed the power supply (or ground) to the seat?
  14. Very nice to see her running on the old Reims-Gueux Race Circuit! Onwards and upwards Hubert!
  15. Well it isn't perfect, but will give you a good idea...
  16. Best wishes on your Birthday Paul!
  17. For me the UK bumper is one of the key identifiers of the rarer UK Spec Z32s. Not bothered by the fogs being in the bumper, at the end of the day these are 90's cars after all. I modified the dummy fog lamp to work, so both come on together, very useful on the rare occasions I have been caught in poor weather.
  18. Have you found the fusible link holder (the black oblong box in the picture above)? It is located just behind the drivers side suspension tower. The fuse is marked "P.WDW P.SEAT" (2nd in from the right). Pull the cover up and off to see the fuse itself.
  19. Do you mean that you couldn't locate the fuse location or the fuse itself was missing?

  21. Have you checked the idler pulley and water pump bearings?
  22. Well the Gallardo is about to be replaced by the Huracán as Lamborghini's mainstream model. Which manufacturer would give you that sense of occasion when you decided to go out for a drive in it? If someone asked you what you drive and you replied an Audi or Lamborghini, I would bet that you would have to qualify your Audi response by saying it was an R8...
