  1. I'm not suprised, could have done with sonar and periscope! Despite that the car didn't miss a beat all the way through that muck.
  2. Ah Ah Shiver my timbers lad!
  3. Chuffed to bits getting the "Runner Up" prize, congratulations to Mandy for "Best in Show"!
  4. Assorted pictures from a typical British summer's day in Coventry - wet, then boiling hot and humid followed by what must have been the heaviest rain I have ever driven in! Big thanks to all the organisers, helpers and everyone who attended and made it such a great day.
  5. We (the SE lot) will be at ~8:30am (Cherwell). Can you PM me your mobile in case of problems please?
  6. Check for seized water pump bearing. Take off the belt and rotate the fan by hand, any roughness?
  7. Accept it won't be ready for tomorrow and give time to getting it finished for Beaulieu on the 3rd August. That gives you 16 days. Come up to Coventry and be part of the event, in any case you are a judge for the car of show award.
  8. Did you follow the procedure: Pump quickly 1,2,3,4 pumps, hold down on last pump - open bleed valve (~half turn), close *then* release pedal. Repeat again and again... When you have got the air out from the slave repeat the above for the bleed valve by the inner wing. http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/cl/008.gif
  9. That's the spirit! Good luck in your reassembly. Would love to watch, reminds me of this... ...Only with a bit more finesse obviously.
  10. Before I sold it all - when I took the 99 spec lights apart to make them "clear" the reflector was chrome, and the dark 99 spec tint was simply from the inner black plastic surround.
  11. Remove the indicator and you will see three fixing nuts.
  12. Looks good, what's the indicator and side light illumination output like now?
  13. I wrap it (and the jack) in towel and jam them here:
  14. The tray on the n/s is hollow (at least it was on my UK car) and needs a lid for the carpet to sit on whilst the o/s tray is just recessed for individual tools.
  15. Check tension rod bushings and if fitted with aftermarket bushes (early design poly bushes) check two bolt fixing of the tension rod to lower suspension arm.
  16. I wouldn't worry about their feelings. If the insurers nominated the bodyshop, get back to them. There is no point in looking at the car each time you see it and thinking I wish I had got it sorted properly at the time.
  17. Tom, that is excellent news! Great to read that you are going get her repaired and back on the road rather than giving up. Well done!
  18. I'm after a UK spec front bumper (has holes for headlight washers and UK number plate fixings). If you have one for sale or know the whereabouts of one please let me know. Must be in good condition with no structural damage. Many thanks.
  19. As above check for fluid leaks/seal failures in master and slave cylinders and flexible hose. Could also be pivot ball or fork failure.
  20. Chobham services at 7am it is then. Departing for Cherwell Valley services at 7:30am (~60min run). See you then.
