General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I've been offered some Z bits, but I don't have the room to store them. If I can get someone to reserve a couple of the big bits, then I may still be able to buy the rest. Anyway, the bits I need to sell straight away is a TT engine, with 55000 miles. The chap has told me that its a good engine from a crashed Z (side impact). Obviously we have to take his word for it. Anyway I can sell that engine for £400 without turbos, or £450 with. The other two big bits are two manual gearboxes, which are also apparently in good working order. I know this is nothing to do with a zed, but what sort of MPG would you expect to get from a Lexus LS400, with its 4L V8? Parkers guide says 19-34, what do you reckon? The soarer has a 4l V8 too doesnt it? If i recollect someone on here has a soarer. Thanks in anticipation guyz ------------------

my zed has just burnt out the front pads what is the all round good pads to buy as am not changing the discs for a while.

problem that is p**sing right off!!,When i drive off from cold early morning etc.The car has been stood all night i get a vibration between 20-60ish mph.Mainly under load, but you can feel it even when lifting off.I've had it since getting the car 6mths ago.It clears up a bit if you give it some stick(not from cold i like my engine).But drive for more than 30 mins or so and it seems to go away???What does anyone think?or have you had the same problem?? at first i thought it eas a miss fire but the engine run so sweet(not chipped???)propshaft was next i thought(nothing wrong here no run out probs etc.)but surely it would do it all the time if it was the prop??.So next i ch…

Anyone heard of such a thing to improve aerodynamics ? There is no need to have a flat piece of plastic stuck on the front obstructing air flow into the radiator and over the car. Dave 'make it better' Nelson

Hi guys, Just spotted at my news agents: full writeup of the new 350Z in the July 2 edition of AutoCar. Had a quick browse and it looks absolutely fab! As the first available model is the 287bhp NA, I can't wait for the TT model to make its ways to our shores. Apparently the NA goes onsale in the US next month - lucky so-and-so's! Danny

Rear leather seats in good nick. Original factory head units - not fully working but may be useful for parts ? Rear boot blind. Original Z 16" alloys when I get new ones, also for sale - they are pitted and need reconditioning.

Problem coming to work this morning. Was about 2 miles from work in my Auto Short Wheel Base TT. Accelerated up a hill but at about 85 mph she wouldnt drop to third. She stayed at 7000 rpm until i took my foot of the gas. I had to drive to work by accelerating to 80 put her into neutral freewheel as far as possible and acceleerate again. This happened once back in March. I pulled over, turned off the ignition waited a couple of mins and problem was gone. Unfortunately I just took her out for a check during lunch (4 hrs later) and problem still there Any ideas. Any solutions by 5 pm?????? Putting the box to hold or power dosent seem to help.
