This weekend just gone, a Blitz FATT DC Tubby Timer which I was so proud of as I managed to fit it all on my own! biggrin.gif

...only to find that it works, just not with my alarm...completely useless and a waste of money!!!

Apparently loads of people have this problem, just confirms what I said years ago about Turbo Timers. Why can't you just drive the last few miles off boost and sit for a minute or two from cold to allow the oil to get up top? Biggest gimmick going!

To summarise...impressed that I fitted it and it worked, not impressed that it only does what I was doing anyway! ROFL biggrin.gif

The best/cheapest mod I'd done to my Supra was a Bleed Valve. I didn't think it would work, but Jesus! it flew. I nearly shit. They cost as little as 80p, depending on what type of valve you get. I eventually got an Aluminium valve costing £20. Piece os piss to fit.

It's the 2nd turbo that it makes the difference to on the Supra (3850 RPM) as does most boost modifications.

Peter (Supraless, now driving an ST24 and gutted)

Oh shit, just wait for the "What size boost jets can I safely run on a stock car?" posts to start flying up....

They aren't that cheap at all - you need a boost guage as well, remember, to ensure you don't get too high a boost spike...

CheerZ,

Andy

Hehe. I already had one of them installed anyway...

I know the Supra can hit 17-18 PSI pretty safely assuming you use SUL fuel. Millers Ocatane booster and/or H2Oi is worthwhile too, just in case.

Peter

yeah because poopras come with 555s no? as standard.

No boost controller is looking for trouble.

Not too sure! I think UK Spec have 550cc injectors, jap spec are smaller, which mine was. All I know is they could handle this boost... You could control the boost, but it meant getting under the bonnet each adjustment.

I eventually turned off the bleeder as I removed both cats and replaced them with Chris Wilson's down pipes. Removing the cats with the HKS Hiper fitted created just under 1.3 Bar boost (depending on weather), which a zillion other MK4 owners roughly run theirs at. I had it like this for over two years with nearly 40,000 miles added to the ODO.

Regards,

Peter
