OK, here goes. Parked for shopping last night, np problems. Started up 1 hr later, HICAS light and HEAVY steering. Drive belt is still there, no leaks, steering works except being heavy. Fluid level may be a bit low, could account for the light but not the heavy steering. Any BRIGHT ideas PLEASE??

hi guys, I think my Starter motor is not working properly, it starts the car but when i turn right or accelarate hard it it makes a realy loud crunching noise. someone i spoke to said it could the starter not dis-engaging properly and that it could be catching on the fly wheel. if this is the case can the starter be reconditioned and where abouts on the car is it located so that i can take it off. cheers aki

Hello, Just read the 350Z preview in AutoExpress Magazine!, they loved it and for £18-£23k it seems good value too. Trouble is it is not going to be sold in the UK! Are Nissan mad? A few facts first: 1. I own a 300Zx NA which I am very happy with. 2. I don't wish to start any arguments, I just want to understand better. The 300ZX is a one of a kind car, but one thing niggles me about it. If it is so good, why are there so many of these "Fantastic" cars around which have had new engines only after 80k miles. I've seen quite a few for sale on the board with this ailment. If the cars have been lovingly looked after by the owners, why did they need new engines ? I have seen many comments that the Z engine is good for 150k+ miles. Is it the case that these cars have been heavily modded. Please remember, this is not a dig - I am just tryin…

I was pulling out right from a side road onto the A164 and a BMW was behind me also pulling out the same way, he pulled out with me and was right on my tailgate...so i slammed the anchors on as it was pissing me off...he then went to overtake and i realised what he was upto, so down to 2nd gear down goes the pedal and even though he had moved out to overtake he couldn't gain any ground and was resigned to sitting behind... we reach a round about and coming out from the roundabout we're off again, still he cant make any ground on me, but i cant get away either..well it was pissing with rain, traffic was busy, so i just stayed where i was, he was obviously mad as he overtoo…

OOer! Had a nasty one this morning. Low speed (35-40ish) coming off a tight roundabout. Just started to put power down - very light, still -ve boost and the damn thing kicked round, scared the guy in the Peugeot in the outside lane half to death. I'm sure there's something wrong here - OK it was wet, nasty, slippy wet but I don't expect any car to do that without putting some power through the back wheels...Put it this way, my Nova used to accelerate faster than that with no probs and sh*t tyres. Any advice appreciated before I go and write it off.... TIA!! RobH PS I'm waiting for tie bar bushes as mine are sh*gged - could that be a factor??

Dont normally drive my zed in the wet and just found out how entertaining they are on wet surfaces!. I pulled out of a petrol station this morning after gasing up and decided to get the beast moving a little quicker along the duel carriageway that I was on, anyway turbo's came on-line and fooking hell - the arse end started swinging from side - side BIG time. I thought I'd almost lost it at one point, some car following a short distance behind me pulled back even more. Oh well I thought it was fun anyway, 'tis a good way to wake up quickly!.

finally got my car back and its had its 500 mile check over after extensive work, all is now well. These guys (steve the owner and andy the zed engineer) are top guys, absolute perfectionists, which can cost you, but by fook they do a top job. highly recommended to any zed owner. they are in the NE (falcon are in middlesbrough and look after a few zeds there). steve
