Has anyone done a repair on the wiper intermittent timer switch. I don't want to undo it and have a pile of parts fall into my lap. Any info appreciated. No response. Does that mean mine is the only one that has ever failed?? [This message has been edited by bryane (edited 07-07-2002).]

Hi All, Is there a diagnostic for the HICAS system? Parallel parking in my 2+2 Jap Auto 90 is bl**dy awful. I generally end up going in frontwards and bumping up the kerb. Is this the same for everyone or am I/my car just being crap!? Cheers!! RobH

Quick poll, is the MR2 the ultimate ‘Hairdressers Car’? Or is it the owners just tend to be rather effeminate? Herman

I'm trying to get to the bottom of why my Z struggles on the dyno but is ok on the road. Can someone please check my current theory. Let's assume an electrical problem somewhere on the left bank. This only shows up under severe load, not simply going up hill for example. This could also account for occasional black smoke out of the left exhaust which would be unburnt fuel. The coils/connectors/ptu/loom could all be culprits with bad connections or corrosion. Main question is does an increased load create more stress on the ignition system such that it only shows up on, for example, a dyno? Cheers guys.

Spotted in Tamworth while visiting Jeff TT. Definitely doing something wrong - either parking in a disabled bay when not disabled or not displaying disabled badge! Gio ------------------

When driving on the motorway at 70mph the car is revving way too high at 3500, the overdrive light works on the dash when you press the button but the revs dont drop. If you back off the accelerator the OD button then seems to work dropping the revs by about 1000 but then when you put your foot back down the engine just revs up by 1000 revs again before it takes up the drive to the wheels. I hope its not shagged he only bought the car last night. I was told the auto should do 70 mph at around 2500 or less revs Paul

Its on twinturbo.net, well actually the http://www.350zforum.com/ forum. The engine sounds good and looking at the engine, there is a lot of room down the sides to fit a couple of turbos. To log onto www.350zforum.com you can use your Twinturbo.net username and password. Stuart

the clock is bust, has a mind of its own, sometimes it will come on, sometimes it won't, it sometimes is fine one minute then for no reason fades out, and comes back on about 20 mins later or something. This is a common problem right? Was it AndyP that fixed them? What is actually the problem with them, is there a tech somewhere that shows you how to fix em? Thanx ------------------

what could be wrong to make oil get into the exhaust and burn off? Now lets suppose it isn't the turbo seals cos they're fairly new. It may also be causing the plugs to foul up on the passenger side bank. I replaced the PCV's a little while ago and compression test is OK. I'm running 1.1 bar. There's a faint smell of burnt oil when I wind the windows down. Is there a known problem? On the road there isn't a problem much but under load on the dyno something was happening that was very odd- hesitation and misfire etc.Occasional smoke from the left exhaust on tickover.Any ideas gratefully recd. Overfull oil levels possibly?

Got the Z on a dyno today at Tuning japanese in aldershot. The engine was fine on the road but under load on the dyno it was stuttering badly. They thought the high boost might be blowing the spark out!? Anyway they change the plugs (which were a bit old anyway) for some nice cheap Greddy Iridium plugs at less than £20 each. (bargain!!!) This helped but consequently I only managed one run out of it. 385bhp (to DIN 70020 wotever that is) 368bhp (uncorrected at engine) and 301 at the wheels. Drivetrain loss of 66.5bhp. 378 lbf-ft torque. Running 1.1bar. Not bad but when I'm expecting 400+ it's a bit disapointing. The engine needs a good going over 'cos I reckon…

Seems Nissan customer services have been saying: The above email was sent to someone on the Scooby board. I have emailed Nissan GB today and await the reply. If its the same, it confirms Nissan GB management are total f*cking dimwits. If they cant see a opportunity to capture some of the Audi TT, Bmw Z3 type market they need shooting! ------------------ Trev 1990 300ZX TT 2+2(import) http://www.300zx.co.uk/rides/trey/

I'm toying with the idea of fitting these to the rear of my jap SWB instead of forking out £1500+ on a new set of alloys. Does anybody have any they don't want, condition is not important as i will get them refurbished, tyres would be nice but not essential. I'm not desperate so no silly prices please! Cheers Ian
