Electric Window! Grrrrrr!!!

Drivers side, push the button and the relay clicks away like it should. Have cleaned the contacts in the box and just put a second hander on from AndyZ and no difference.

Peter at PPS reckons he'd had the motor going by bypassing the relay or the switch.

Is it a possibility that it's just a fuse blown? Where are the leccy window fuses? Kick panel or engine bay?

TIA

Timmy Lad,

I have the same problem but if I park up, switch the engine off and then try the window it works perfectly, one click and it works as it should one click and it opens....one click and it closes.....

Pain in the arse or PITA as someone once said! LMFAO biggrin.gif

I dunno, must be the motor as my local chief mechanic(Mrs T) has just reported in after checking all the fuses. "What does P.WDW mean?" LOL biggrin.gif She tries bless her.

Right off to ring Nelson for a price on a new motor, not putting a second hander in as they are a bitch to take off and a swine to replace! wink.gif

Relay being the box around the middle of the door bud? Have cleaned the contacts up on my original and just replaced with another one off AndyZ. Still no joy!

Passenger side window is working. Only other thing suggested to me is a broken wire between the relay and the motor.

Peter at PPS bypassed the relay and the window worked fine.

Hmmm so if bypasing the relay works, it aint the motor.... Is there not another control box somewhere? Passenger door maybe? Trouble is, its about 6 months since I've even seen my zed so can't remember very well... frown.gif

Think that's pretty much it me old fruit bat. Main switch panel for both windows is on the driver side and I've tested the relay, motor has been proved so I'll have a look at the wiring over the coming weekend.

Need a meter, trip to Maplin on Friday I reckon.

Worked when it went into SE all those moons ago, could it be down to the car standing all that time? Something has got jammed regulator etc. I dunno, pissing me off though as I have to use the ash tray and I hate doing that!!!

P.S. see what you mean Andy, I might take the passenger side relay off seeing as I know it's good!
