General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hey everybody. I just wanted to know if the Greddy SP univeral exhaust will give me the same sound as the Greddy SP exhaust on my 300ZXTT. The thing is, I already bought a JWT H-Pipe last week off E-Bay and I really like the way the SP exhaust sounds. I think the one I heard is the original Greddy SP. Its not the SP2. The thing is that, I saw the Univeral SP and it looks the same as the real SP. Design wise. Thanks a lot everybody.

Went out this morning to the shops , everything was fine , got back in the car , started her up went to pull away and it was sluggish :confused: drove a little further and realised it seemed to be stuck in 2nd gear, wouldn,t shift up into 3rd or down into 1st, carried on for a couple of miles to warm it up properly. I pulled over , turned it off then re-started , the power light flashed a fault code , pulled off and it was perfect :confused: :confused: . I think it flashed a 33 but not sure as it hasn,t done it again?????. Has anybody had similar and has anybody got the list of codes for a jap autobox. Thanx …

Ive installed a set of Alpha sonic components into a mates focus st170 running off an amp and 2xalpine subs conected 2 a seperate amp they are all wired to the standard head unit which is the 6cd changer all built into 1 which is why its not been changed but the problem i had was it had no rca outputs so i connected the 2 converters to the relevant speakers and earthed them as it says so i could have 2 rca outputs. Tthe wires for the front speakers run down 1 side of the car along with the rca leads and the power and remote run down the other. The amp warning lights are not on and the live ,earth and remote are ok and ive even wired a normal cd player with rcas already bu…

can anyone tell me what the wiper blade lengths are for the front windscreen? Went to Halfords today to get the Bosch ones but they only list ones for the 200SX, not sure if they fit. Also, are they different lengths on UK and import cars?

Mate of mine rang me to tell me he saw a wide arched zed in blue with deep dish alloys said they were at least 10" wide on the A6 near preston np sure what direction as i wasnt there.

as the title. Anyone on here? Had to do a double take - I was in the black one and the grey one was in my garage. Thought I was going mental for a moment. Actually stared at the reg plate, cos it looked tinted like my grey one.

im having a spot of bother with saftey boost as some of you are aware, just bought the car so dont know much of it history or mods, ive got a apexi air fuel digi controller in the car and a apexi digi boost controller, the boost is set at 0.9 kg/cm but only boosts to 6.8... the air fuel thing is set at 0 and goes up from 0.+3, +6, +12 and so on.. have a aftermarket gauge and shows the same as the boost contoller when boosting, the standard gauge goes over to +14 when boosting... looked under bonnet and found the black square conectors to be still connected ( standard boost controll soloniods)? so i un-plugged them. ecu reads code 55 found th…

I`ve tried to call SE Nissan in Maldon for a long time without getting through. Some rumours say that they have closed down. Someone out there who knows anything?

Perhaps someone of you with modified 300-engines can help me with my problem: My engine is heavily rebuilt, larger turbos, intercoolers, injectors, forged pistons, cams etc., and it seems that above 5000 RPM, the engine gets "strangled" and can`t get rid of the exhaust. I need to know what limitations the original exhaust manifolds represent when it comes to increased BHP. At what level in BHP will I need to modify to get good exhaust flow from the engine to the turbos?

Hi guys in need of help yet again. My battery keeps going flat, when i turn the ignition over, the power light flashes up and the battery light stays on, it wont go off even if the battery is fully charged. I hope its as simple as I need a new battery but fearing the worst. Thanks

When I lock my Z I hear a faint high frequency noice and it stops when I unlock it. As far as I know it does not have an alarm. Anyone ever had this problem :confused:

I'm pretty sure my offside turbo is broke. So i'm going to replace both but was after recommendations. I was running at about 12psi. Everything else is pretty standard, changed the hard pipes etc... but that is about it. I am aware of recon tubs, new tubs and 360 degree thrust bearing tubs. Any others I may look into? Approx costs would be nice as well. Thanks.

i'm still unsure what boost controller to buy i asked about the blitz sbc but i have seen a apexi avc type r in black for £275 are they any good and is this a good price. how have any of you mounted yours i dont want it to look out of place thats why i did want the blitz as it will fit in the radio slot

Similar to an earlier post, I have sorted my rear wheels but need some help on the front. The supplier is suggesting an offset of 20mm for an 8.5inch wide 18" (maybe 19") wheels. I intend fitting big brakes hence the offset to clear. Question. Will this wheel fit my standard Z without modding my arches? Does anyone have this size fitted? I have looked and searched but "need" an answer that I can trust. Cheers

to all of you with 500+ bhp many :bow: . i have decided to stop faffing around and rebuild my engine, it'll take time and plenty of money but i will eventually do it. what are the steps i need to take inorder to acheive my goal? Sorry, this is probably covered before but have looked through threads and can't find an answer. My Z is overfuelling and I was going to put a chip in it and get it re-mapped properly to solve it and get me a few more horses. :smw: I have seen some ECU's for £700 which I am assuming is the whole upgraded unit? I have also seen MoTeC chips advertised for around £200-300 which I assume are devices to plug into your existing ECU? I am a little confused and a bit (a lot) of a novice when it comes to in-depth engine management. Price is a big issue, but I am going to have to have it played with to sort the fuelling so this is the ideal time to chip it. Any recommendat…

Hi every one, just needed to know what are the benifits of fitting a na diff to a tt its been mentioned on a few threads and do you have to reach a certain stage of tunning and is their a down side to this conversion is it worth changing cheerz.

is there an actual FITTING difference between a non turbo and turbo mph dial? what is the difference? ive seen one that is goes up to 180mph and they say its a non turbo one?

Think it was a Jspec, had an aftermarket front bumper and alloys on, believe it was on a private plate. Cant remeber an excact time, but roughly 4.30pm ish!

Hope someone can help me. The front wipers won't stop. As soon as i turn on the ignition the front wipers start and won't stop either. Any clues??

I have a 1994 300 ZX Twin Turbo Manual; engine was replaced but now overheats. Problem appears to be somewhere inaccesible at the back of the engine. Car has now broken down 3 times in about 1000 miles. Also engine is hunting. Any suggestions on where I can get this fixed? It has rendered the car unusable.
