General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Hi guys i have a gurgling noise behind the dash allyhough ive done nothing to the cooling system. Any ideas? :confused:

O.K. This is what I've done :- Replaced timing belt and all auxilliary belts. Timing belt fitted fine, all timing marks aligned, Cam sensor replaced on original position, but engine will not fire, where have I gone wrong ? E.C.U. reset and Diagnostic check carried out, 5 long,5 short flashes, indicates no problen with that. What else can I check/adjust ?

Anyone know the diff between NGK PFR6B-11C and NGK PFR68-11B ? given that i assumed the 6 was the temp rating ? are the B''s cheaper or summit ? I would have thougt they were same price. thanks smithy

Hi, I am new on this site. I just wanted to know if anybody knows of any exhaust that sounds like the on this web page. I am talking about the Greddy SP exhaust for the Twin Turbo model. I am looking for the rumble sound that it gives. I would really appreciate it if somebody could help me out. I just want a exhaust that sounds like the one on the web page. Ok so the knocking noise on the back of my car seems to be getting louder. It's a dull noise and seems to be directly related to the smoothness of the road (or lack of) and speed makes no difference. This makes me think one of the shocks as gone (and the noise comes from around the rear wheel). The bad news is I have adjustable tein suspension. So 2 questions, 1. Is it likely to be a shocker? 2. If it is, can I run tein at the front and something else at the rear or should I keep it the same? Where supplies tein suspension? ta.

I'm a bit confused!!!! As most of you know I've installed new dump valves last week and have compleatly taken off the recirc ones and bunged up the original rubber pipe using 28mm adn 32 mm bungs on the pipes where the recircs came off. My question is the vaccume pipe that was attached to the top of the recirc valves, is it connected to any kind of inlet pipe down there causing a possible air leak as my Z'ed as she feels slightly down on power after putting the dump valves in... It looks like the original vac pipe just connects to a small metal pipe that runs along side the big air intake pipe then as you look at the top of the engine inlets comes from a small metal…

Hi, I am new on this web page. I just wanted to know about the Greddy SP exhaust. I heard the exhaust on the 300ZX TT and I loved the rumble sound that it gave. Its exactly the sound I was looking for. I am planning to purchase a Greddy SP exhaust in a couple of weeks and I just wanted to know if the Greddy SP Style exhaust sounds the same as the Greddy SP exhaust. I know the SP Style exhaust is a univeral. That's what worries me. Can someone please let me know if the SP exhaust sounds the same as the SP Style exhaust. Thank you

Red 300zx (z32)only saw rear of it had twin ferrari style back lights and a high level spoiler sounded like it was a manual had a nice deep sound to it.Was about 4pm ish and it was heading towards blackpool from cleveleys town centre.

Those who have fitted the HID kit Did you all mount the ballast boxes in the front air filter compartment ?? If not where ...only I have a stock air filter ATM with not much room for ballasts and was wondering about the best options !!

Is there any easy way of getting the old battery clamp off? It is solid on there and the only way I see is using a hacksaw...it kind of looks like if I did that there would not be enough strap left to properly reach the terminal... Also...do I need a cricket bat type soldering iron or do small ones heat up enough to put the terminal back on??? Normally would get someone to do this but I fancy a go myself... Cheers

Hi, Trying to sort out my high idle problem and have narrowed it down to the AAC part of the IAA unit as when I disconnect the connector the idle drops back down. I think it might actually be a boost leak as I can hear a hiss when the connector is back on, can anyone shed any light on this? Also, what is the actual point of the AAC? What harm will it do if it's left disconnected? Cheers Vijay

Fitted a 2nd hand engine, which i have no doubt is a good one, but im having a few problems idle, is irriatic, either cuts out, or sits at 1500 it seems to be dropping a cylinder as and when it wants, i cant find any trigger to when it goes, but certainly, from cold she is a complete bitch im getting black smoke, which i believe is fuel? im also getting a loud whistle type noise when she is cold, and only when in boost to say ive had about enough of this car is now an under statement

how hard is it , i have a s2 ptu now and the harness , is it a matter of unpluggin 1 and plugging in new one or does it involve soldering , cutting wires ect ?

bought a second hand sports exhaust and need some gaskets and nuts/bolts for it, any idea who could supply them, or would the stock gaskets be suitable???? I presume i could get them from the dealers? Any ideas?
