My z’s dead…been given some advice after my z started to get a rough idle and miss firing wile driving, read the forum and decided to replace sparkplugs. Found on two of the old plugs a lot of oil on the tread of two cylinders. That’s bad?? Piston seals? Replaced the plugs fired up well then after 10min problem started again. Now she just instantly stalls if you don’t put some revs in so poor girl is sitting undriven. She was top notch a week ago :( Could be just electrical one of the coils looked a bit suspect, can of worms like most problems. Any mobile mechanic able to come over to Watford / Garston and give her a diagnostic? Lack_of_hair@hotmail…

I have read in various threads about using silcone sealant to stop the leaks. Dense question - is this the same stuff you use on the bath/ clear stuff from Halfords? The gel stuff? I also read about Seek and Seal - is this liquid that flows into tiny spaces? My targa doesn't leak as much as gush, so I thought I needed something a bit more gunky to fill the gaps. I can't quite work out where it's pissing in - mind you I did try to look at it in the rain.

Dear Z men, I have recently aquired a 92 SWB TT manuel imported. Its far to hard and low for general use so I pull out the springs and shocks. The shocks look standard but the springs are Espelier (blue)?. Can any body tell me what the standard spring high should be. Any suggestions for a good alround set-up. JH

Thanks to muffy and mickl I hope to have a replacement bonnet soon, this is going to have vents put in similar to james300 and I just wondered wether any of the guys here with vents in their bonnets have any problems with the engine getting wet when it rains, mainly concerned about the electrics getting soaked as I use the car daily, or am I better off trying to rig something up so that any water dripping down there is taken away via some pipework? any thoughts guys??

I'm having problems with boost on my car. Basically I have a Blitz DSBC boost controller which is set at Ratio:57 Gain:6 Limit:1.10. Now ive also had car checked for boost leaks. Problem is when i floor it im sometimes only getting 0.75-0.85 Bar, plus it fluctuates up and down mid boost, like the valves are opening and closing. Now when fitting the controller i disconnected the origional actuator plugs as per instructions. Does the car still use the origional actuators or would the fluctuating possibly be caused by duff solinoids on the boost controller? Or is it likely to still have boost leaks? Thanks in advance Marcus.

Hi all, My stock dash clock seems to be slowly losing the plot. It tells the correct time for a while, but then every now and again seems to just pick a time at random, until I set it to the correct time again. Apparently it was a bit dodgy when I got the car as the dealer told me it wasn't working at all, so he fitted a replacement (which also didn't work). In the end he plugged the original back in, only to find that it had started working. Now, as I say, it's playing up for me. So, the question is, are there any decent after-market alternatives available? One that showed AM and PM (or better yet uses 24 hour time) would be good. Thanks, Bart

Hi guys, Just a quick question: I've just MOT'd my Zed (import) in preparation to sell, and it failed on just a headlight bulb, which I thought to be a bit of a result. Unfortunately the guy at the MOT station said I will need to replace the whole unit as the units are sealed up (bulbs not accessable??). Whats the easiest way to get this bulb replaced? surely im not looking at a £200 bill for a dead bulb? :headvswal thanks in advance

Was driving along this afternoon in the Z'ed after filling up with petrol and all of a sudden the temp guage went from it's normal sitting at half way position to rising near the top of the H on the internal gauge!!! Soon as I saw this I imeadietly pulled over and waited for things to cool down, thinking I had a water leak somewhere.. Wasn't kaning the car it was just under normal driving so I called my mate out who kindly came along with some water to fill the rad up just incase I had a leak... On opening the rad cap I found that it only needed a little water just to top it up so couldn't really understand why the temp gauge should suddenly rise like …

Hi! Well don't know how it got through it's last MOT without one but am in the process of fitting a rear for light/switch to my 300. Seems to be going ok so far but just working out where the switch can go, it's a small rocker type with an led. Have had a search and seems as long as it's visible it's ok, so was thinking how about in the ashtray, that way I can just pop it open and flick on/off, any ideas? Cheers!

Hi All, I hope you can help. My car has been off the road for a few months, this weekend I decided to get it sorted and back on the road. I took it out for a blat last night and everything was fine, (still suprises me how quick a Zed is, ;)), but this morning it's decided that it only wants to run on 5! I have plugged in the ConZult and discovered that it's No.5 that's at fault, I've swapped the coil pak, cleaned the connectors and swapped spark plugs but to no avail. :( The monitoring page on the ConZult has the LH Lambda running at twice the voltage of the RHS. I haven't carried out a compression test yet, as I haven't got much more time to…
