Had the dash speedo-tacho cluster out today - swapping an mph chip. noticed the two wee bulbs at the lower edge of the clocks - face forward onto clocks. First - anybody know why they are there, cos they only seem to light the black shroud around the clocks, the dash is backlit. 2nd- anybody sprayed this surround to make the most of this ambient light? Thinking glitterflake, pearl, luminous finishes.

Ive got my car and for some reason i believe it is not boosting right, is there any way i can check whether one of my turbos are blown or if their are any leaks. How would i go about this problem, what are the signs I have no idea what to do, help please!!! :headvswal

i might be being stupid, but how do you fit the front mount intercoolers that only have 2 outlets, surely they have to have 4 outlets (2 for the induction and 2 for the turbos) enlighten me if you would be so kind.

Hi All, Anyone know of anywhere I can get a Z logo gear knob, or even whether they exist? My current gear knob is really tacky (it's not stock) and given that I'm going to have to dismantle the centre console and take out the gear-switch to change the bushes, I figured now would be a good time to replace it. What I'm after is something in brushed, or shined metal with the Z logo on top in silver and black (i.e. exactly like the badge on the front of the car). I had a look at Concept Z Performance, but all they seem to have are the standard Nismo leather gear knobs. I also checked out GetGreddy and the ZCentre but to no avail. On a related point I'd …

Hi guys, only joined today so i thought i'd say hi. I'm currently looking at buying a realy nice '89 300zx TT. i've got a list of stuff the current owner has done (he's my boss lol) & i can usually tell when something isn't right with a car & i've been reading the FAQ & the rest of the forum's all day & its helped me a great deal with what to look out for. now - before i seriously commit to this i was wondering if there were any other ZX owners in the Kent area who would be willing to take a look at her before i say yes? At some point in the future, I'm going to need to get some new tyres. I'm not sure quite how far in the future, as I've still got plenty of wear left in my existing tyres, but I just want to think ahead a bit here (and budget for it as much as anything else 4 lots of 18 x 245 x 45 -- not sure about that last number -- isn't going to be cheap). So my natural instinct is to go for a premium brand of tyre, because basically these are the only things that keep you on the road. Something like the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3, or Continental SportContact 2 or whatever. However I know absolutely nothing about tyres, so my slightly controversial question is are the premium brands…

Just got my car working again after a month off the road (Clutch master cylinder worn) and it started okay and ran okay for 4-5mins. Then the the engine /exhaust note started fluctuating. Its only changing by 50-100rpm but its not right. The idle is changing about once every second. I haven't had a chance to hook the laptop up to the car yet but could the Idle be set too low (Its roughly 750rpm at the mo). Any help appreciated... Ta

Hello people, Some time ago I replaced my HICAS rack with a 2nd hand one complete with HICAS arms as mine had way too much slack in them and bled the system. Anyway, the new (2nd hand) ones had no slack and I had all 4 wheels checked and tracked. Now I have noticed (can't recall if it was there before or got any worse as I had no rear end wobble at all) that some times I hold the steering wheel dead straight and drive dead straight, more than ofthen I have to hold the wheel slightly left to drive dead straight and some times have to hold the wheel very slightly right to drive dead stright. It seems that I'm sort of constantly having to correct the steering to keep in…

i bought a set of new ebc front discs and pads in march ,and after some good advice on here decided to do the job myself . BAD IDEA. In the last couple of weeks I notice vibration/shaking when I brake at high speeds. I know warping is common if the bolts are not tightened properly, so i'm guessing this is the case :( Funny thing is If I brake very hard it goes away, it's only when i first touch the pedal, but still very scary to brake at 100+ and feel the steering wheel wobble. All my wheels, tyres and tracking are in order so I can rule that out. Is it too late, are the discs fooked?? :(

Sorry, posted this: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=58586 in the wrong forum. Gearstick's loose. Any advice much appreciated. Found a good article at http://www.ttzd.com/tech/bushingstech.html which seems to cover most of it, but was wondering where the best place was to get the bits from. Also, is it worth fitting a short-shifter for anything other than cosmetic reasons? Cheers, Bart

Hello all. Is there anyone in the Plymouth area who can fit a socket in an ECU (to fit a chip)? I've had some very high quotes to do this locally but don't really want to post off the ECU to get it done as I need the car. Thanks.

 Got the two valves and hoses from Nissan. The two hoses are the same, parts man says the part numbers have been merged into one. Only thing is, it looks to me that the passanger side hose should be of equal diamater at either side as it does need connect to a small pipe as per the drivers side. Could any kind soul shed some light on this for me please.Cheers
