Finally got round to converting kph to mph using the resistor way. Took out the r10 and replaced with 20k resistor. am not the best solderer going but it seemed ok. put it all back together and went for a test. as soon as i moved off the speedo needle started shooting up quicker than the rev counter!!!! Read 120 mph at approx 25mph true (from gps). then after that went back to zero and refused to move. tried to reposition needle but was still exactly the same. dont know wot went wrong. checked board again, all seems ok......... any ideas??? could i have damaged pcb. (as previously mentioned not the best with soldering). :headvswal :headvswal …

hi all i changed my maf with a good working one yesterday, all seemed ok pulling strong no hesitation and only a little back fire when backing off the throttle drove home from work today and it seemed to be jumping all over the place (like a missfire) and getting loud cliking noise from down beside the accelorator pedal, but no hesitation when pulling away (which is good) also when engine cold if i touch the throttle while clutch is pressed in (or in neutrall) the revs drop a couple of hundred revs before slowly creeping back up (it also sounds very inductiony like its sucking more air than it should be) the missfire usually starts around 2000 rpm upto abou…

hi guys wondered if you could help with a vibration comming from my 300zx na.It comes in at around 60 and its a vibration that seems to come thru the seat ,theres no shake on the wheel, and it doesnt fell like rear wheels need balancing, thought it could be the prop bearing as the car has done 52000 so had that replaced by samurai in essex, but its still there, any ideas would be much appriciated.cheers Yani.

Guys, I recently imported a 90-91 Jap swb TT automatic. The car is mechanically sound but the rear window seems to have some sort of acetate or acrylic film or finish to the interior which makes it extremely difficult to see through even when the heated rear window demister has been activated. Have I got some one-off model or is this standared? Any ideas how I can improve things please........ Cheers Tom

Just started to notice my windscreen lifts sort of up and out (at the bottom in the middle) :headvswal when I shut the car doors. If I push the lower part of the windscreen I can push it out far enough for my wipers to move???!!??! Only thing I done recently was removed the black plastic below the wipers for spraying and tidying up. When I went to refit these, a few of the poppers snapped (Im going to order some more from Nissan - probably at silly money!!). Surely the bottom of the windscreen is NOT held in by a few poppers that press the plastic trim onto the screen??? Is there something else thats wrong? *EDIT* Whilst Im on the subject is there an eas…

Yay, new car and a new challenge! I got my first squeaking noise coming from the engine bay. It only happens when the clutch is lifted (either through load or sitting idle), if its pushed to the floor no noise. Seems to get faster and louder through the rev range. I popped the bonnet and had a look to see if I could trace the noise and its coming from the upper left of the engine bay (if you standing infront of the car) Any ideas or am I doomed before I start! Thanks

Has anyone ever bought one? If so would you happen to have the Nissan part number because its apparently a genuine part. they appear on eBay every now and then but get snapped up straight away and go for silly money. When they first started to appear they were like buy-it-now for about £25, which makes me think they will be cheap from Nissan  Thanks ;)

I had some new number plates made up at halfords today. Why why why did I bother, I KNEW they would be crap, but I still went there, and guess what, they were crap. The lettering looks like it was applied by a twelve year old. Come to think of it, it WAS. I paid £3 extra per plate for 'carbon' lettering and it looks crappier than kids lick'n'stick tatoos. AND they cost £30, but I'd asked the guy to do them he took several hours to set up the stencils and I didn't have the heart to say they look crap mate after he'd finished. Now I need to get proper ones done somewhere.
