Simon, I need to source an oil that shows the same characteristics at room temperature (~20 deg C) as engine oil at typical operating temperature of a turbocharged diesel engine (~100 deg C). I need it for my final year project at university, hope you can help. Thanks Yaseen

Do I take it a boost controller will eliminate the need for boost jets? With a chip and boost controller i'm hoping i can run it on 95 oct at stock level, and if I want some fun, fill the tank ,add octane boost and set it to a higher boost, so i will be keeping my engine safe. Sorry for stupid question, but I've done searches and read a lot about boost controllers, and because I cant get optimax or anything over 95 oct here it makes it a bit more complicated.

has anyone managed to make a custom sub box for the boot? I made one today for a 12" sub, fitted in the space on the left side nicely but it's a bit rough around the edges (i'm no carpenter) so i'll probably cover it in carpet soon. Amp fitted nicely underneath in the foam compartment. Just wanted to see what other peoples installs were like. I've also got a problem with my amp, it's got 4 RCA's-in for channels 1-4 but no matter which way i connect the RCA's from the stereo the sub seems to act as a speaker with mid and high range. I thought subs were only suppost to output bass. I've also twiddled all the buttons and knobs but there's not been much difference. …

Hi all. Looking at a deal on a Twin Turbo Auto but was really looking for a manual boxed car. Is it dificult to convert the auto to manual at a later date if I find that I really dont like it ? Has anyone done this ?? Is it even posible ??? Any help apreciated, thanks in advance.

Is there such a thing as a single Din pocket for the centre consol of the 300ZX. Ive got a single din head unit which fits ok in the slanty top or bottom but that leaves me with an empty slot which I would like to fill with a pocket any Nissan options ?? ALSO .... Cmon You head bangers ...wheres the best place to fit a subwoofer in a SWB ??

What sort of extra bhp are people thinking if you decat a TT? On my old 200 people said anywhere between 10 an 30bhp... i had it done and it definatly made the car pull stronger so thinking of getting it done for the 300....

Hi, I have a Jap NA, auto with decat exhaust system. I have been having a problem with smooth power delivery at or below 2500 revs. Seems to idle fine after about 1 min. Does not accelerate well, can be lags in acceleration for 1 or more secs when pulling away. Sometimes the car is ok (get nice smooth acceleration) but 90% of the time now it has the problem.. sometimes notice the RPM counter fluctuating slightly as if fighting to keep the engine going slightly... I have done a ecu diagnostics and it came up with Detonation sensor circuit problem. So bearing in mind I am not a great mechanic ;) what could be causing it & what DIY should i be looki…

Slightly moving on from which fuel to use, does anyone rate/use additives you see for sale in places like halfords... decoking/fuel cleaning/coolant enhancing... the list gos on... just wondered if they are worth the money or if using optimax does just as a good a job? Be interested to find out guys...

Mornin chaps, I have a 94 NA. The exhaust sounds very very tinny at low revs. I read somewhere that they have heat shields attached, if they were to come loose would they make this noise, or is it more likely I need a new exhaust, if so what good aftermarket ones are there for a limited budget? the speedo needle shoots up to about 110mph when driving around town and as this happens the car misfires, can any1 give me any solution ? cheers

after having my NA Zed for nearly a week and running it on Optimax..put in £110 so far and getting around 25+mpg. what do you run yours on? I wish the 99ron stuff that Tesco does is available up north. Cheapest super unleaded here is Sainsburys at 91.9p/ltr. Does anyone put any addidtives in there fill ups?

In need of your ideas on the above issue :confused: The noise is louder when the engine is cold and seems to "rev" with the engine. Anyone have a clue? The idle is all over the place also, sometimes normal, sometimes hitting 2000rpm.....don't know if this is related? Cheers :bow: Justin

has anyone fitted R33 324 disk on a Zed with standard calipers, need brackets ASAP

I have a switch in my dash that works some rear foglights on the car...recently this was accidentally re-wired so the light on the switch was on whenever the side or headlights were on. Just tried to get it back how it was by swapping the wires over, heard something go click and now the sidelights, headlights and rear lights have stopped working. Also, when the normal dipped beam is switched on, the full beams light up and don't go on or off with the stalk :mad: The aftermarket foglight swith itself has 3 pins, one of which was going to eath, one taps into the stereo wiring loom, and the other goes to a black relay which itself has 4 wires coming from the bott…

I think ive found the problem with my speedo,it has a KPH to MPH converter in it. When i bought the car it had a clock wich went to 110 which was reading correctly.I then put a UK speedo in it and now its all over the place. The problem is what does the converter look like and where the hell do i find it? :headvswal :)
