Can the dimmer for the dash lights be removed? I got some red replacement LED's but they're quite dimm and the dimmer is on max - can it be removed to up the power?

hi, please can anyone help me, i had a toad a1606 cat 1 alarm put on my car at the weekend and the installer had a problem with my auto inhibitor switch. basically he said that the wires from the ecu to the switch had (at some time) been cut/ fiddled with and he has had to by-pass the inhibitor switch for the car to be able to start. obviously this isn't the ideal solution as the car can now start in gear hence will fail its next MOT :( :confused: he said he would re-wire it if he (or me) can find a wiring diagram. i'm not sure if this means the engine ECU, auto box ECU or what. please help!!!! has anyone any idea why the ecu's wires have been played w…

i have a 300zx none turbo the clock tells me it will do 180 KPH thats not very fast for a 300 my megan will go faster ?

I want to get a new rear bumper for my car, it has a greddy gracer on the front, and I have skirts sorted, so Im now looking for a rear bumper. All the ones I have seen just seem to be extensions onto the existing bumper - Are there any full replacements available? What types have you guys fitted to your cars? Thanks.

I wonder if anyone can help or advise me about a power steering niggle that has recently developed. I have a 91reg Z auto NA, and it's been a dream for the last 3 years, no real problems. Just recently I've noticed the PAS cutting out at low revs or when I start her up, however get her up and going and it soon sorts itself out. It doesn't do it all the time just intermittently over a period of about a month now?? :confused:

does anyone know that the torque settings for the wheel nuts should be? my wrench is in nM calibrations. ta

Had a new exhaust fitted at the weekend, and on the way back the speedo was acting very weird, where as it would drop dramatically from say 80mph to 60mph in a flash. It did it a couple of times and I got home fine so didn't thinik anymore of it. Anyway, this morning, started the car up fine, but when I press the clutch pedal down, it makes a noise similiar to a starter motor that gots stuck, but cant be the starter motor as it started fine. I then turned the car off, started up again, depressed the clutch and it didn't make a noise, went through all the gears including reverse, and then depressed once more, and it started again, so I left it as was running lat…

hi my clocks r in kph and theres some well i dont no replacment dials r they easy to fit i can get the clocks out but then i get stuck how do i get the glas of to change the dials look tricky dont want to end up with no clocks and how come my car say 180 kph thats not fast for a zx is it

Fitted a strut bar this weekend and since it was put on every time the car is in drive the car shakes and makes a bit of noise, it waaaaay more apparent when the brake is pressed. was wondering ifd this is a result of the bar (not sure how) or summat else?

Anyone on here soldered a chip socket in, and could help by doing mine for me. JWT chip for auto. Cheers in advance. ;)

my drivers seat is brocken and un repairable with out alot of work the question is my seats are manual could i put an electric one in? is it just a case of a fused live and an earth are are the zed seats more complicated than that? Thanks Si

well. ive just put me motor bk in and all is well except 1 slight prob! as i rev it up ( blip the throttle ) and then hold it at say 2.5 - 3k it keeps losein all power and will not rev but if i go slow with it its fine!! any ideas.. im got do an ecu check in a mo! thanx guys

I'm new on here so suppose first thing to say is Hello everyone! I'm thinking of buying a 300ZX twin turbo towards the middle of nxt year when i've got another years no claims. I was just wondering if theres anything to look out for in particular when buying them and i kno its all about how it been drven in the past but if theres a certain mileage things start to go wrong etc. Any advice will be much appreciated. Anyone know if you can get repair kits for hks coil overs,one of mines poped its seals. Didnt want to replace the shock as they are expensive.

Hi folks My car has stopped firing. The PTU was replaced so I have narrowed it down to either the fuel pump or fp relay which may be busted. A replacement pump is on its way to me but I thought that perhaps it could be the fp relay. How do you test the relay? Would bypassing the relay be ok? I shall do an ECU test but sure it'll give code 55. Also I shall clean the temp sensor connector and others properly. Thanks in advance Van
