jaffaZ32 Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 What size are the standard turbos on the 300? Also what are they on the 200sx s14? and what is the maximum boost these two types of turbos can run??? Thanks in advance. Quote
Guest turboslippers Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 think they are t25 standard Quote
Guest russ Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 300zx T25 200Sx T28 at a guess 18psi would be close to the line if not over it Quote
jaffaZ32 Posted October 17, 2005 Author Posted October 17, 2005 Cool, well i've blown mine and my mechanic has a 200sx and said to put two of them on instead, just seeing if it was really worth it, might aswell as they are prob cheaper. Cheers. Quote

philrob2000 Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 In theory its quite easy, Ive done a few T25/T28 swaps on S13s. If the T25 is the same as the one on the S13 then you'll need to rotate the core (5 minute job) and buy an adaptor for the inlet pipe (If I remember right). They cost about £15 and should be available from someone on SXOC.co.uk. Try Bren at Apex Performance. Also one of the holes on the flange needs to be "slotted".. You get more power so worth the bit of work IMO. ;) Not sure about the maximum boost but I was running 15psi regular with no problems on a standard S14 T28. i had it at 17psi a few times but not an a regulsr basis.. Yowser Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Stock Turbo's are TB22's which are a hybrid of the T25 with a smaller T2 exhaust turbine. Quote
Dazsw Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Damn I'm amazed the turbos on these are so small, very counter productive when running higher boost than standard as the small turbos will be so hot. Wish I could afford to change them. The turbo on my old car was a wonderful T4, what a sound! Quote
pete shrimp Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 A pair of S14 T28s (I've got one on my S13 :D running 15psi) would be the same though, not mirror images hehe like zed ones, so more fabrication then :p Quote
philrob2000 Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Never thought about them being "left and right". lol. Quote
philrob2000 Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 So whats the easiest, without spending silly money, option for a more power turbo change then ?? A pair of S14 T28s (I've got one on my S13 :D running 15psi) would be the same though, not mirror images hehe like zed ones, so more fabrication then :p Quote
jaffaZ32 Posted October 18, 2005 Author Posted October 18, 2005 The problem is i've blow my turbos and was thinking of a cheap but better replacement. hence the second hand S14 turbos. Is there a better alternative? or is the S14 turbo a good choice? Custom fabrication isn't too much of a problem. Quote
Paul C Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 So whats the easiest, without spending silly money, option for a more power turbo change then ?? a pair of aftermarket tubs specific for the zed! LOL! speak to our traders for options Quote
Guest Chris@GetGReddy Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Custom fabrication isn't too much of a problem. Wait till you get the bill for it then, mega expensive is custom fab. Quote

LOL! speak to our traders for options Yea that would be nice, i would love to ask Smithy to order me some "JWT 700" but at this current point in time i'm on a budget. Insurance Tax Mot Xbox 360 lol. Xmas expensive few months ahead. But at least now i know it's not my engine sigh of relief. lol. Quote
Paul C Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 TBH, a turbo upgrade isnt the sort of thing you want to be doing "on a budget"! JWT500's may be a cheaper alternative than a pair of 700's tho!! Quote
Guest Chris@GetGReddy Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 TBH, a turbo upgrade isnt the sort of thing you want to be doing "on a budget"! Spot on ;) Nice pair of GReddy TD04's will come in cheaper as well and will produce 420 RWHP Quote
jaffaZ32 Posted October 18, 2005 Author Posted October 18, 2005 Wait till you get the bill for it then, mega expensive is custom fab. Oh right, that may hurt then lol but the mechanic i use is best mates with the blokes who owns power and performance which is a power flow dealer. So hopefully they should look after me :D Quote

Does anyone know much about the JWT 700bb's? Quote

Does anyone know much about the JWT 700bb's? JWT's version of garretts "disco spud" isnt it? quite a big turbo that needs big supporting mods. theres a few guys in the states running them now, not heard of anyone over here yet tho Quote
