hi, please can anyone help me, i had a toad a1606 cat 1 alarm put on my car at the weekend and the installer had a problem with my auto inhibitor switch. basically he said that the wires from the ecu to the switch had (at some time) been cut/ fiddled with and he has had to by-pass the inhibitor switch for the car to be able to start.

 

obviously this isn't the ideal solution as the car can now start in gear hence will fail its next MOT :( :confused:

 

he said he would re-wire it if he (or me) can find a wiring diagram.

i'm not sure if this means the engine ECU, auto box ECU or what.

 

please help!!!! has anyone any idea why the ecu's wires have been played with? its a recent 1989 import?
