Dash light dimmer/resistor

Can the dimmer for the dash lights be removed? I got some red replacement LED's but they're quite dimm and the dimmer is on max - can it be removed to up the power?

    LED's emit the same amount of light no matter what voltage

    The dimmer does work on LED's, don't know why, but it does :confused:

     

    As for the brightness, then you should have got Super Bright LED's, but removing the dimmer wont make any difference, unless it's faulty!

    i've ordered some 4-bulb led's, hopefully they will be brighter
