strange tinging noise from clock

hi fellas

i replaced a blown fuse and low and behold my mirrors now fold in again and my intermittent wipe works fine ...only wierd thing now is there is a strange tinging noise like a tin relay making or breaking ..the clock is dimming and coming bright again in a pulse that accompanies the ting sound and it doesnot remember what time it is when i turn the engine off .....i am going to rip the dash apart and maybe i can find what it is and at the same time fit the aliminium effect dash kit ..( will post a how to on this when done )

does anybody out there have or had a similar problem that you could point me in the right direction once in amongst the cables and tubes and scary bits
