General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Well after some last minute advice from members regarding the last hoses the car was ready to start with the tempoary engine. So I turn the key and..... 2 turns, a puff of soot out of the exhausts and..... Into life she fires :D :hyper: It's the 1st time I've ever heard her run, I bought the car in June as a non-runner with what turned out to be a blown engine, hasn't been run for over 12 months. Ok she sounds a bit rough but some adjustmets, conzult and fixing a blow from the exhaust and she should be there. It means I might finally get to drive a 300 for the 1st time!

Was wondering, what best things I can do to help my car out. Sadly, the garage is now full of crap and until such time as its unfilled with crap the car is outside. its got a nice cover on it, but alas its still outside. So was thinking, fluids and about starting it when its minus temperatures? not a good idea in the mornings but what to do to make it as comfy as possible?

As some of you may know, i have been trying to decide what car to get next. I managed to narrow it down between the R32 GTR and another 300zx TT. Tbh i pretty much had my heart set on a R32 GTR, ive always like skylines and it was something new, a fresh start, a new adventure. Just want to say a big thank you to this club and all it’s members. Friday afternoon I left work as usual, no problems with the Zed. (92 TT Auto) Half way home I lost all the gears, had nothing. Engine would rev fine but when put in gear got a loud whiney noise as it went in gear. drive 30 or so yards then nothing. Would be ok if I turned engine off and back on after a minute or so, would get a loud whiney noise as it went in gear. drive 30 or so yards then nothing. Can anyone tell me what hubs are needed for a Nissan 200 to convert to 5 stud. Would I be right in saying that either NA or TT front hubs and NA rear hubs are required as I know there are differences between the rear hubs but am thinking the fronts will be the same. Cheers John

Hi all this is my first post got my 300 about 3 weeks ago and last week i had a bit of a problem the heater matrix had gone just took it out today 4 1/2 hours later its out wot a mission now all ive got to do is fine some one to mend it. Does any1 know of a uk supplier for this 3 gauge dash pod thingy?... yes i know it looks pretty pants like that but i think with a little modification so it doesnt cover the top of the centre console it could look good! i have my carputer screen filling the double din area so i need a new place to house my 3 other gauges to complete my full dakota digital setup... i am considering fabricating the 3 gauges into the area above the centre console, but individually like in the 350z sort of style but it will be a pita to make look good/stock... im not keen on the windscreen pillar pod holders but any other ideas would be welcomed? and no frog style pods e…

I have a JDM 2+2 Auto TT. I have put a new engine in and I am ready for the start up except one hose! From a previous post it seems maybe only certain models have this hose. Below the alternator by the metal bar across the under side of the car there are two metal pipes facing the front of the car. One hose from these goes to the bottom of the rad on the passenger side and carries water. The other is an oil hose, it is about 1 1/2-2ft long with a '?' shape at the end and is about -10mm bore. Now I have filled the oil in the car it does leak oil if not blocked off. Does anybody know where it should fix to?? I can't find anywhere and it is the only thing stopping …

Hey Saw a Red Uk what seemed to be a TT with 99 spec rear lights. I got abit excited lol Was in a black Saab with the Missus Ste.

After conductiong a boost leak test on my ZX I found a lot of air was being lost around where the brass "cross section" fits to the main body of the valve... now would this be a common are for the Zed's to lose boost pressure from? Also the gasket has seen better days, so will be replacing that too... Pics to illustrate below:

Well one nut or bolt was bound to do a runner while i am working on the zed. Still getting better :rofl: What type of nut that secures the steering arm bolt to main wheel disc, suspension frame thingy.

I've finally got my zed back after five months off the road. I'll post some pics when I've given her a clean, because I think she's looking lurverly! :bow: Today I went to meet up with a guy I used to work with for a pub lunch and catch up and on the way I ended up dancing with a Corvette for a while. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face all afternoon. :D

:rant: Any ideas...... When I get in the car & start it up ... my brake lights dont work. Switch headlights on, and the back lights work - its just the brake lights (the warning light comes on in the dash when pressing brake) ....... half way through the journey the warning light stops coming on and my brake lights work again :confused: Fuse - checked Switch on brake pedal thing - checked Bulbs - checked they arn't blown or loose Wiring problem maybe? Anyideas where to check first?
