I have a whining clutch - the sound disappears when i push the clutch pedal down (even in neutral) but then reappears when i let go (and increases in pitch when i accelerate). Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? And secondly, would it make a huge difference to the acceleration? For some reason my Z (SWB TT Manual) just doesnt feel as fast as it used to - im not sure whether this is just me getting used to the speed or could be due to the clutch. cheers in advance!

I know you are all going to say the stock oil pressure gauge is buttons dont worry about it and i am not as i have an aftermarket gauge too but it is a nice to have and it is good to have everything working especilly when i come to sell it. since my last oil change i noticed that the oil gauge is slow to respond and even more accurate than ever and struggles to show higher pressures. At one point it was actually reversed (going up when the oil pressure was going down and visa versa) but this was solved by the old electrical fix of turning off and turning on again. Have i knocked something when doing the oil change? where does the sensor sit? anyone ever experien…

hi there chaps i'm about to up the boost slightly on my twin tub, and haveing already planned for this on my other car (a 2.5 v6 twin tub mitsi) the chaps that know their onions with the VR4's have advised that the stock re-circ dump valves will likely leak as the springs and other internals weren't up to the job and are likely slightly weaker with age too. so is this likely to be the same with the Z32?, afterall my car being an october 92 is five years older than my 97 VR4. if so, what dump valve arrangement is best? replace them where they, or get the hard pipe kit as per Z1 motorsport HKS thingies? thanks guys shrew

I've had the 300zx (UK TT) for a few weeks and it's been running fine until today. Driving it back from work it didn't seem to be down on power and was running fine, but while I was letting the engine run down on the drive I thought it sounded very tappety. Just had good listen and it's definitely in the top end at about camshaft frequency - I peered down the oil filler - and rises with engine revs. It sounds just like my diesel Passat now! I haven't given it a blast recently, in fact just a gentle drive to work and back each day. I had planned to do an oil service on it this weekend anyway, but is it easily fixable, expensive? Any thoughts?

OK here we go. I havent had the zed started for a while. About 4 weeks TBH. Just went out with the jump starter and it fired up first turn of the key. NP. lovely old girl. BUT she has a slight but annoying tap from the back end of the engine right bang in the middle of the plhenm. plhelmn phlemn....the rocker cover. It did seem to get quiter after about 5 minutes but I turned it off. Is this a common fault? I seem to remember it doing it before but not 100%. I would imagine its a sticky valve or cam? but thought I would ask you lot. thanks for your help and advice....In advance. :D vini

I've ordered 2 boss kits now for my TT and they are really difficult to fit and never sure how they actually go on, should be a easy job. I have always asked the question is the kit for a Hicas 300zx and with a yes every time. Well anyway the 2nd one i ordered i thought the fitting of it was random, i had to remove the hicas bit on the steering wheel, it's a really good fit apart from that. one niggly thing is the horn wouldn't connect up because the way it connects from the Hicas. Anyway i thought 2 boss kits now different brands and the same thing both times so this is how they must be. Well anyway i was sitting at work one day and a parcel turned up, what was…

  19. So Einstein tells us that the speed of light is constant (E=MC2). Which is all very well in theory, but that is in a vacuum and reality the speed of light actually varies according to the density of the medium through which it's travelling. So that includes air, water, glass, diamond etc. Now the visible light spectrum is red through to violet with red being the lower frequency and blue being the higher. This means that the slower end of the frequency range will be affected more by the denser medium. Therefore, if a red and a violet car are racing and appear to arrive at the finishing point at EXACTLY the same time, then in fact the red car has arrived there fractionall…

Im seriously hacked off, twice now the car has been in the garage for brake discs and the wrong discs sent again, what is wrong with people. I bought front mintex discs for my '93 lwb N/A 280x30, calipers fit over but pads wouldnt, so ok sent them back and got them exchanged for the 280x26, sorted........NOT :headvswal the offset of the bell part of the disc is 30mm, apparently needs to be 25mm, why would this be different? i thought the hubs were the same on all models, obviously not. The supplier has gone to scratch his head to try and find the right ones. Has anyone else had the same problem.. I have looked through the threads and this particular querie d…
