Hello all,

2-3 weeks ago I had a cobra alarm fitted with total closure (window closure). My battery was replaced twice in the following week. Got a refund and had the alarm removed. Was told by the AA guy that the alarm was fitted incorrectly and was draining more power than it should have been. Since the alarm was removed I have had no problems whatsoever and its been a few weeks since then. So now I need a new thatcham category 1 alarm/immobiliser fitted with total closure. I want to get a toad Ai606 with the additional window closure and the necessary additional motor for the passenger door (window?) or so i have been told. Best price i have so far is from toadalarm.com at £400. What do you think boys? reasonable, expensive? can you recommend someone? btw im in a central London and these boys say they come and fit it after I have paid a deposit and will make sure the work is carried out correctly.

From their website it looks like they concentrate on Mercs now, but they always used to do anything.

I would stay WELL AWAY from those cowboys mate, there actually called specialist security installations (i used to subby for them) and they had an excellent reputation but the owner sold out to the infamous cowboy group GAP SECURITY. They will chuck it in as fast as they can and then they will completely ignore you when the alarm fails

hi mate. i dont suppose you know a guy called justin whos in sheffield ? used to work toad but then went on his own.

Hello and thanks for the response. You sure i can trust this guy? If it goes wrong or i get a battery drain again who do i go to? This is why I have been thining of getting it done by a company rather than an individual. Will he travel for install?

Yes he works for toad as there head of technical so he knows his stuff plus he has his own install company as a side line
