Peeps,

Ive just re visited the ztech website for the first time in ages, and see that it has moved premises. I know Chris took over not too long ago and was wondering if anyone has seen the new premises and is it a bit more suitable for the work than the old premises (which to be honest was nothing more than a large dingy hole in the middle of a farm), had any contact with Chris, or most importantly had there car worked on??

In the 2 years of zed ownership i spent a serious amount of money with the old ztech (tbh it was probably at ztechs peak) and i realise that a fair few incident seriously damaged Ztechs reputation for good work.

So i am curious to see what direction the new owner/management is taking it in. For the people who have been there, is it a case of ztech reborn, or same old same old??? I cant help but think that you cant have too many QUALITY specialist. (This is not ment to be any sort of dig at ANY of the traders, especially any of the SWZ boys, knowing that your in close proximity to ztech)

Cheers

Nick

Well, I think that's a question only Chris can answer.

So if you read this Chris, here's your opportunity to answer the question

Infact my comments of how good ztech were to me are still the top of the list on the "comments" page on the ztech site!

Im actually looking forward to the answer!

That's why I posted what I did!! :p

Nick, I have spoken to Chris as he sought to ask permission regarding posting a reply before going ahead and doing it.

As far as I am aware he is now working on a statement.

Im a little shocked and surprised that you are pushing this subject, may I ask what your motive is, as it looks as if your attempting to run the guy down??

My motive is trying to establish if we have another specialist in the south that is worth spending money on. Nothing more, and theyre is deffinatly no alterior motive for my posting, only as i said you can never have enough Zed specialists, and as im looking into buying another zed, i want to know who is near me should i need work doing.

As you can appriciate, from some of the people who have typed into this thread, Ztech was seen to view the thread for a significant lenght of time, hence why i said "im looking forward to the reply", and yet it 'appeared' that no response was given.

To know that Ztech is putting together some sort of statement is very reassuring, but I was not to know, maybe thats not for me to know, that this was the case.

No worries fella, sorry for any confusion caused. :duffer: :duffer: :duffer:

I was a little unsure how to reply to this post, as I have spoken to Shunter regarding advertising on the site in the past, and was told what I could and couldn’t really do, so I kept in the background hoping that anyone who used us would post a glowing report, as word of mouth is the best recommendation any business can get.

I have again contacted Shunter, and asked how to reply to this post, and he’s told me to be honest, so here goes.

My introduction,

Hello, my name is Chris Scaife, and I am the new owner of ZTech. Whether the ZTech name stays is still yet to be decided, but for the time being, it has.

Yes, we have moved to more workshop orientated premises not too far from the old premises.

Currently we have 2 well qualified mechanics working here, and me, and we are still undertaking all aspects of 300zx service and repairs.

As well as all that, we also have a body shop we work closely with who has turned out 4 re-sprays which have exceeded our own expectations. They have also fitted a few bumpers as well for us and sprayed with excellent results.

We also offer parts, new and used, at reasonable prices, and I am currently in the process of setting up deals with 300zx enhancements, and a recovery service.

As well as that, we offer a trimming service, which is all hand-stitched, and can be made to your own specifications.

Also we have a few cars for sale, which we are currently checking over before advertising.

Keep an eye on the web site for offers, and deals. Though I have to admit that we are so busy at the moment trying to catch up, I don’t have a lot of time to update the site at present, but that will change as soon as things calm down.

Unfortunately I have had quite a few unhappy customers contact me regarding unsatisfactory workmanship carried out before the change of ownership, and although I have tried to help as much as I possibly can, I cant please everybody all of the time.

As you may all be able to appreciate, this has been a large upheaval, and we have worked exceedingly hard to try to maintain a high level of quality and service that I personally would like to receive.

I would like to thank Shunter and the Committee for giving me an opportunity to introduce myself, and letting me briefly outline where ZTech currently is, and where it is going.

For Any inquiries,we can be contacted on the numbers and e-mail

Chris,

First of all i would like to wish you well with your reserection of the business, which ever name it decides to trade under. Please be reassured that I was not meaning to start any trouble with this thread, it was mainly curiousity to see what was happening with the business. Nothing more.

I did actually pop down to the old premises in Baydon not too long ago and found it all shut up, which lead me to checking the website, which brings me to this thread here.

I'm hoping to come down to your new place in the near future, introduce myself and check out your new place.

Until then, best of luck to you.

Nick

Sorry mate but i dont see how i have created a negative atmosphere for Chris? Maybe its because im reading it as it was ment to be read, and it appears from other perspective that i was trying to discredit him.

Trust me mate, this wasnt the intention at all, I dont even know chris, so i wouldnt even attempt to discredit him, its just not my style.

Its difficult taking over an business and i appreciate that, unfortunatly being tagged with a rep that is indeserved happens to everyone, even me. Like i said i honestly wish the bloke all the best.

I was chatting to Chris the other day about the ongoing issues on my zed's bloody electrics, after a conversation, i have now more things to check, to elimate the prob.

Thanks for the advice Chris, as i mentioned, will try and get up to you in the new year.

All the best

Stu

I have recently had the pleasure of having some work done on my Z at Chris's new premises. I found him very accomodating, enthusiastic, passionate, caring and above all had my car repaired in a proffesional manner.

It is early days with regards to settling in to the new premises, but I think he has some good plans and the premises / location are excellent.

I didn't have any personal experience with the old firm, so can't comment.

I do understand that Chris had learnt of certain inherent staffing issues and also had a scare on the property lease, but these have been addressed / resolved.

I can vouch that his two mechanics that I saw seemed very capable.

I hope he will continue to grow his buisiness and be able to offer our Z's a safe haven when the need arrives, which unfortunately seems to be all too often!

I know chris, and i know his customer care will be spot on, good luck matey ;) Might pop over sometime to say hi :)
