Wondering if anyone can help me, my Z is in some trouble, it seems be lacking power, i thought it was something to do with one of the coils, however it turns out its the wiring loom running to the injectors, the wires are old and not in the best of condtion, the connections were coroded these have now been cleaned up but it is still running a bit lean not very smooth, any ideas where i can find a new wiring loom, and how hard it would be to fit?? or maybe there is an eaier way? any ideas would be greatfull. :mac1:

You were spot on buddy ;) removed downpipes today , managed to get a hand into the tubs and found paper jammed in the shafts. They were spinning OK but obviously air flow was restricted. Car now boosting at 90%, massive improvement. :hyper: Must be a little bit more paper left somewhere, not too worried i'll find it eventually or it may burn itself out. Thanks again, apologies to everyone for the constant stupid questions, but I'm delighted to be back on the road :nana2:

havn't drove the car for a few days as I noticed a rattling sound coming from the engine that rises and drops with engine revs, not a light tappety sound a deeper tap from within the engine, seems to be best heard if held at around 2k while the engines warm, while its cold it isnt as loud which doesnt make sense to me because the engines cold so shouldn't there be more play until the engines up to temperature?

Well we all know it's a case of "when" and not "if" with these things. I took the ZX out the other weekend and as usual, the car was running perfectly. However as I was almost home the auto box decided not to operate as normal. Kick-down is fine - instant and fast; the trouble is, the 'box seems a little reluctant to change up! When I overtook another car, the RPM needle just went straight into the red until the rev limiter kicked in. The 'box only changed up when I backed off the accelerator. It was still fast and responsive though. When I got home, I checked the fluid - it is nice and pink with no unusual smells (oo-er missus ;) ) and the level is spot o…

Peeps, Ive just re visited the ztech website for the first time in ages, and see that it has moved premises. I know Chris took over not too long ago and was wondering if anyone has seen the new premises and is it a bit more suitable for the work than the old premises (which to be honest was nothing more than a large dingy hole in the middle of a farm), had any contact with Chris, or most importantly had there car worked on?? In the 2 years of zed ownership i spent a serious amount of money with the old ztech (tbh it was probably at ztechs peak) and i realise that a fair few incident seriously damaged Ztechs reputation for good work. So i am curious to see w…

See this link: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=98728&referrerid=5526 So looks like Jack was right Nearly broke my fingers when pulling the crank pulley off as it snapped and hit my hand  Good reason now to buy a lightweight one My pcv valves where all clogged up with sh#t too althought the little valves still worked. The plenum and the hoses of the tops of the turbos where covered in oil. Is this normal?

Hello all, 2-3 weeks ago I had a cobra alarm fitted with total closure (window closure). My battery was replaced twice in the following week. Got a refund and had the alarm removed. Was told by the AA guy that the alarm was fitted incorrectly and was draining more power than it should have been. Since the alarm was removed I have had no problems whatsoever and its been a few weeks since then. So now I need a new thatcham category 1 alarm/immobiliser fitted with total closure. I want to get a toad Ai606 with the additional window closure and the necessary additional motor for the passenger door (window?) or so i have been told. Best price i have so far is from toadalarm.…

a bit of a long shot as it was three weeks ago, but I saw a red Zed in the Asda car park in Shrewsbury I think on the 7th Nov (Wed). You (the owner) may have seen me snooping around it as you came out of Asda. Are there many Zeds around north Shropshire? It's quite an occasion when I see one!
