General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Whilst the rad was removed on my ZX I noticed the sponge padding that's around the base of the intercooler pipes.... now what's the general concensus about removing this? Would it allow the engine bay to release heat a tad more? eitherway I don't see any benefit of keeping it there?

we had the budget over here today and they hit the motorist big time, on a 3 ltr car the road tax is gone up 11% to 1231euro per year (thats 887 pounds) while we can import anything from anywhere as regards cars there is a vrt (vechicle registration tax) they have now added 4 more catagories based on emmissions all aimed at they bigger cc cars, we are being penalised because of all the suv owners :rant: :rant:

anyone know the stock size/thread/spline size of stock studs as I need to get some to fit with 10mm spacers(Assuming the stocks would not be long enough) I have found 12mm spline and 13mm spline both on m12 thread which would it be? anyone know offhand cheers :duffer:

Can anyone recommend a bodykit that is a direct bolt on with NO modifications needed?

i have already tried under faq and search, and cant find definitive ans following a discussion on a forum over here, about tt engines (not zs) and when the turbos kick in, most seem to be saying 1st turbo 2-3000rmp and second turbo at about 5000rpms, i thought on the z they both kick in together, can anyone put me straight please

Just bought a CTek battery charger with an adaptor for the cigarette lighter Problem is the adaptor for the ciggy lighter won't fit. I'm guessing it's because the Jap cig lighters are different to UK ones. They don't seem as deep as normal UK ones. Can anyone confirm this. If they are different, is it possible for me to fit a UK version to my car?

hope somebody can help here, a lad along the road from me knocked on me door the other week asking if a knew a good mechanic as his fan/alternator belt had come off so I told him to pop along with the car tomorrow as it was lashing down and I had been drinking, the next night he brought the car along and said he would just leave it with me as he wasn't in any hurry to have the car back as he was going home to liverpool for the weekend so I thought great I'll leave it till sunday and do it at work in the dry and with a lift. so, whipped the other belts off, put the new belt round the crank,alternator and fan/water pump pulleys, tightend it up to the full adjustment and it …

Not urgent have done a search but after an hour of looking gave up. seem to of lost all but 1 of mine. Needed so I can get a quote on how much a interior would cost.

HI guys - i need some fitting instrucitons/guide for my garage to fit a replacement knock sensor as they cant seem to find it - can anyone help! Nissan can do it but have said they will charge me £85 just to diagnose the problem first as they cannot rely on another garage despite the fact my garage has an ecu printout with the fault!! :rant:

hi mate - just blown my engine up after 2 weeks - head gaskets gone !! Did i see your complete engine for £500 ? is it out or needing diconnecting. what is it ? manual - auto ? mate looking at scrapping mine unless i can find something to help me !! Do you think you could fit it ? I can get someone else to do it but it all costs. Ok to look at them they look like you gotta be a big guy to drive one, i mean for instance i have drove a few BMW 5 series which is a big car but i reckon a 5 foot person could drive it as everything is quite close type of thing, im 5 foot 10 myself, Like in my merc i have the seat almost as close as it will go just to reach the pedals properly.

A pale / light green zed with black 3 spoke(?) split rim style alloys in the Shell petrol station on the Trunk Road in Redcar around 6.00am on sunday morning. And, a red zed coming out of the Nissan offices and heading south on the A19 around 2.00am this morning.
