General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Recently went to get my tracking done and i was told all my cambers are out but the car has not been lowered or anything of that sort so i was wondering why they would have moved? i couldnt have the cambers straightend as they are not adjustable :( whats the best thing to do? Ive seen adjustable rear cambers on ebay???? anygood?

Its seems as tho when driving at high speeds my rear end is moving about and it feels scary, i want to get out my top speed but cant as it feels like my zed is drunk. i had the car up on a ramp the other day and the rear wheels have play from left to right, my friend is a mechanc and he said its the bottom ball joints on the wishbone but he is far from an expert and didnt even realise the hicas system existed. now i want this fixed but i dont want to fork out all this money on the wrong parts. how can i be sure where the problem is?

Ok following my idle problems my z is now idling even worse, its idling very unstable and goes lower than .500 rpm sounds like it will stall but it just moves about all crazy. yesterday i took off the sensors including the one on the air intake and cleaned them but i sprayed switch lube on them :S maybe this was a bad idea as now its idling lower than before when it was idling too high???? oo and i also just put on an induction filter this afternoon :) can anyone tell me what i have done??? need to bleed my hicas. any tips on the best way to tackle it.

hi i've just brought my first zx tt. ran like a dream at first but now seems to be over fueling. its fine when i first start it up then when it gets warmed up it sounds like it splutters and miss fires every time i put my foot down and the warning light for the cats comes on. it back fires and there is a strong smell of fuel but no leaks. what could be the problem and could i sort it myself, or is it going to be expensive? please help cheers

Im looking for a turbo Timer for my dads 300zx for a Christmas present for him. does anyone know any good websites to check because there is so many turbo timers out there and im not terribly sure which one to go for. ive been recommended the blitz fatt by one of my local styling centers and he quoted £70, does that seem a good deal?

I plan to change the auto box fluid over christmas so i need to order the bits to do it now.I've read this http://www.300zx.org.uk/tech_09.htm so i know i need an oil pan gasket but do i need the "o" ring on the strainer pipe or anything else ? It also says use mineral turpentine to clean the strainer, is this turps from B&Q you clean your brushes with ? :D

HI all, Has any1 used the Trust Greddy uprated cambelt on there zed? Especialy on uprated cams and springs? If so have you had any problems with it as i need to buy a cambelt for my rebuild Thanx

im new the the whole world of zeds and im currently lookin to buy one of my own, but while im waiting till after xmas to get it and for a clean one to turn up at the right price ive been lookin into them and cant find a whole lot of detail on what mods and tuning can be done, as for parts either, ive tuned the tits off a skyline and wana see what i can do with one of these now as skylines are just everywhere now. so what im asking is, what type of mods are really available. i cant find a power fc although i can find the extension lead for these cars, i know the e-manage is available too. as for the elbows and front pipes are these made into the exhaust systems for t…

When removing the engine on a TT do you recommend removing with or wthout gearbox attached- it's a manual btw. Thanks

Lets hope the pics work... i was fitting an Apexi kit i got from Dan at DTA and when i removed the airbox and saw the AFM I notice it was torn. and looks like so... (providing the pics work!) Do i need new AFM or with it be ok? Kinda tried sorting it as it had a big hole, stretched it out a bit and kinda looks a bit better! any advice appreciated.

Is it possible to remove just the lower part of the engine in order to change pictons or do I have to work my way 'down'?

Firstly i wanna say Big thanks to Mujina to his Led dash/pod guide, was a pain in the a$$ as i'm really not so good with eletronics and soldering irons, But after going through his guide i have done 99% of the lights. Any recommendations were i can source some good side mount intercoolers? And what performance gains are there?

I'm taking the Z to Zedworld in Tamworth to get the Hicas bushes redone as they have worn out. I'm thinking at the same time to get my ECU remapped. They say it costs £300 and gives about 70bhp more. Is this a good idea? Will this have any impact on the turbo's or coolng system or anything else? Would it be better to upgrade other elements of the car first. The car has blitz dump valves, sports air filter, and big bore exhaust. It may have other performance mods but I wouldn't recognise them if I was looking at them.

Whats that tiny fan for ,at the top left of the inside of the car in the middle of the tbar where the interior light is? mine makes an annoying noise.... ahhhhh and my aircon and climate control doesnt work would that have anything to do with it? my heating only comes out hot and not cold???/

HI ALL :hyper: AM SUFFERING HESITATION AT STEADY SPEEDS, UNDER NO LOAD AND REATIC IDLE, PULSING UP AND DOWN BETWEEN 600-1400 :rant: TPS IS FINE, INJECTORS FINE, COIL PACKS FINE, TEMP SENSOR FINE AIV FINE. :D AFTER SEARCHING THE FORUMS I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT IT COULD BE THE O2 SENSORS :D AM LOOKING FOR ANYONE IN THE SUFFOLK/NORFOLK AREA THAT COULD DO THIS FOR ME AND WHAT SORT OF PRICE WILL IT COST :D MANY THANKS ALAN
