Advice please (tyres)

My rear tyres are on there way out 245 45 16s..... i have had sitting around a set of 225 50 16s would these be ok to put the rear of me z?

    I am sure that the Japanese Imports have 225/50/16 all round......

     

    except for mine of course...which has been all UK-ified :)
