Hi, can any one suggest any recomendations of clutch for a tt and anything that would be useful to do when doing it..Is a new lightened flywheel worthwhile as well? Has anyone used Z1 for parts like these?

Thanks

i also got the rps from smithy, very happy with it, almost std pedal feel

Yeah have used both before alot ! lol but as the exchange rate is sooooo good at the moment, the same clutch or flywheel is almost half of what Dan is selling for Z1 looks good, and yes even with Tax is fair bit cheaper. Anyone used them before and is there a guide to clutch replacement and what to replace while I'm at it

Thanks

RPS Sport street $520 shipped, = approx £260, if you get hit for taxes etc, you can add another £55-£70 to the price to include handlers fee of a tenner.

Dannys price, £370 and he often throws in a freebie or cheap pivot ball/clutch line. The above just an example ;)

Should you decide though on importing yourself, be sure to check the clutch disc and diaphram spring very carefully before fitting as Z1 won't enetertain you once fitted even if you don't drive the car, anyways the discs are only singly wrapped inside the box and can easily damage in transit so check, the diaphram spring doesn't like heavy knocks and a hairline crack or breakage can sometimes happen under the clutch cover, you will not be able to disengage the gear in this case, just the 2 main things to look out for ;)

smithy

i have recently bought an rps clutch and flywheel with a stainless clutch line from z1 and in fact lots of other goods from them in the past.. i have never had any problems.. good service, well packaged etc. however, i am fortunate and get goods extremely cheap, the rps clutch, rps flywheel and stainless clutch line cost me less than £450 to my doorstep... it all depends on how much your saving really to weigh up the gamble, at least you know if you buy it from danny/smithy that you will be looked after and wont require the headache/timescales/expense of returns etc... call it 'reassuringly expensive'!
