I've just been out doing my rear brake pads and found the nearside piston seized so i cracked the bleed nipple to release some pressure and the nipples come away complete with threads. Is this a case a new caliper? I hope not as i'm already pissed off and have been loaded with the flu all week :cry:

Well I finally got my Zed. After about two weeks of searching and toing-and-throing between a Lexus GS300, BMW 7 Series, Mitsu FTO and the Zed. I sat down and made the decision. Took me a while to find a car I liked enough to buy but eventually got there. I now own a '90 TT in dark blue. It was owned since import by a guy named Paul in Aldershot before someone bought it and then couldn't afford to run it and so sold it within a couple of months. The car has done about 70,000 miles and (other than a mongoose exhaust (still catted surprisingly)) is pretty vanilla in terms of mods. When used on a Doolz set-up is the actual use in the pipework of a dummy AFM of any importance? because of the lack of space on my car I can fit the 2nd filter but only if I don't use the dummy AFM... the fact it serves no purpose other than maintaining equal lengh of the pipework makes me think it is not essential.... can someone confirm? Peeps I have been thinking in investing in an orbital polisher. I love polishing my car/bike but by the time ive done a paint scrub/polish/wax im completely shagged. had my company medical today and at last got round to seeing barry (bazzaJG) and his amazing fat arsed zed.......what a machine and a top bloke too ( thanks to Bazz for holding on to the plenum for so long for me it was much appreciated ) .will post up some pics when i get the upgrade engine build bits from danny and when Duffmiester gets in touch to put it all together for me ......got a LOT of inspiration from Baz today it is a very well sorted imaculate example of what a zed can look like given time money and patience ........dont sell it mate youll regret it forever

Driving around when the car is cold and the heating on, I can smell a strong smell of petrol. Also it exhaust fumes smell a little of petrol. This is only when the engine is cold though, what shall i do?

Hey all, Am thinkng of re-painting my brake calipers while she's off the road. Now, they have already been painted Red (not very well i might add) and i want to change them to Blue. Any advice on the best way to prep 'em before repainting them?.... Cheerz James

After I`d been stuck/crawling along in traffic for about an hour the other day , I noticed a humming noise , as if something turning/spinning was rubbing , or lacking lubrication . It sounded too " heavy " to be the fan (?) It happened once before , in the Summer , but I hadn`t noticed it since then . Any ideas would be most appreciated , lads an` lasses .

Hi all, First time I've had a frost since getting the car. Thought "Oooh 10 mins with the windscreen on 40 degrees no problem". 20 minutes later nothing has happened, and I've finally realised that hardly anything comes out of the top dash vents when it's on full. There's the normal fan noise but no flow. Are they always like this? or I'm thinking some magic flap motor thing isn't working so my air isn't being directed to my screen... which probably means dashboard out to fix lol. Cheers

While taking the Z apart to replace the tension bar bushes I noticed a tank (nearside front wheel arch, infront of the wheel/behind intercooler) and the lack of any liquid in it. The tank cap is yellow with a dipstick attached and states coolant/refridgerant. I've had a quick scan through the manual, slide D on the link shows it but I can't find a better description. Anyone know what it's for and what should be in here? To add a TT front bumper to my car, is it a complete new bumper all the way to the lights or is it just the spoiler bit at the bottom? Confused!!

I very nearly crashed my Z this morning down a dual carriageway. Travelling at approx 70 - 80 mph this Dick in a Ford Fiesta pulled out on me, I had to brake as not to hit him. He then pulled in and I'm still doing around 70 mph, floored it in 4th and OMFG, proper wheel spin and I'm pointing into the inner lane, lifted off and I'm pointing to the armcoving (sp?) whilst banging my head on the Targa trim. After a few more left/rightcorrections I'm going in a straight line again. Slowed to about 60 for the rest of the way and let the Twat in the Fiesta sail by. I was close to pooping my pants. My UK spec TT manual has started to make a creaking noise when i press or depress the clutch pedal, the noise is like a creaking/clicking that can be heard both inside the car and outside... What could this be? I first thought it was the cable on its way out, as thats how it sounds...but they are hydraulic... so i am confused any ideas anybody? Thanks Dan

after finally building the zed ive driven a few different cars over the 5 years off the road recently drove it and felt really uncomfortable in it couldnt get used to roundabouts or junctions and it kinda ruined my hopes for the finally built car anyone else had this? maybe im mental :hyper:
