General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I've been searching far and wide (on t'internet!) for black chrome mesh to replace my silver steel mesh with but I'm having a tough old time finding it! The only ones I can find are matt black and made of polyurethane. I've checked the local garden centre with a view to painting the steel but the smallest diamond they have is 13mm across which wouldn't stop a small rodent to be fair! Anyone know where I can find the stuff???

Hey, Looking at refurbing my stock turbos untill i can save the pennies for something bigger. Would like to do as much of the recon myself but need to find somewhere that could balance them for me, can anyone point me in the right direction? Cheers Ste

Hi, This workshop is in Strood Kent just behind Tesco's, spoke to a guy think his name was Gareth, said he had been working on zed's for 15 years,asked him to price up a cam belt change said it would be £250, is that about right? when I spoke about this club he said that he preferred the Zclub, so is he known on here and is he ok to use. cheers Paul

i cant belive how gutted i felt watchin my zed drive away with its new owner who was a sound guy and hopefully take good care of it now i gotta look for a jap family car but i dont think theres anything that will touch my zed it just felt so right drivin her

Anyone used these before? Just got some the states for my clutch and brakes, not convinced that the top bleed pipe in the clutch is the correct size but will soon find out!

Hello, I have a '90 TT that seems to have blown a hole into the water gallery on cylinder 5. Have done a compression test and found all around 10.7 but with cylinder 5 low on 9.1 bar and a pressuried radiator. I have two questions, one does it seem a reasonable diagonsis and two what are my options for a gasket set, currently considering Z1 due to exchange rates is there anywhere else closer to home that has a similar price? Any words of wisdom would be good aswell about things to remember! Cheers Ste

Guys Just a quick question. Oil cooler hoses in my Jap TT Manual are knackered. It appears that the existing pipes have been somewhat overengineered as they consist of: --10mm Outside diameter nozzle fitted to car - (8mm inside diameter) -- anodised push on grub screw connector -- 10cm length of 10mm inside diameter braided hose -- anodised adaptor converting 10mm inside diameter hose to 16mm inside diameter hose -- 50cm length of 16mm inside diameter braided hose -- anodised elbow hose end to fit to rad A local auto pipe company are going to quote me for some new hose and hose ends. Can anyone help me please I face a dilema. I want to buy one of the following cars a Nissan 300zx tt, Toyota Soarer 2.5tt and a Mitsubishi GTO tt. I'm doing some backround checks on what they are like to own and what power the standard internals can take before they need forging for example I have been told that the Soarer can handle upto 500bhp and still remain reliable before a forge or Supra bottom end is called for, I'm starting with the 300zx tt, Please help as out of the bunch it's a 300zx tt and Soarer I'm most interested in. Just realized I posted this in the wrong section. Here goes again. My new 300zx has a cold start problem. It takes 2-3 longish cranks to get it started. I read on another thread that the fuel pump check valve may be the cause - fuel draining back into the fuel lines. I've tried priming the fuel lines trick (ignition on and off a few times before starting) and that seems to work. So the question is do I need to replace the pump and check valve or can I repair or just get a new check valve? I'm not sure if it's an integral unit.

hi chaps ive just seen a pic of a zed with rear arch extensions ( not a wide ass conversion ) and wondered where you get them from or what they are called i think someone on here has a pic of a zed with these arches on but cant find the pic any ideas or help mucho appreciato

Is the 2+2 Rear hatch the same as the 2+0 ??
